We enjoyed staying in La Casa del Poeta dell'Etna very much. Maria, the owner is very kind and helpful. She gave us great ideas and tips on what to see. Breakfast is also very good.
The room is nice and clean. Actually it was two connecting small rooms, with a double bed in each, so staying with children was quite confortable.
The location is great. 30 minutes drive to Etna and to Catania.

The drive with Massimo from the car park to our accomodation was exciting. We were a bit unlucky in that the village was enveloped in cloud, but that made the drive more exciting. The village of Erice is absolutely beautiful high up with the most amazing views and interesting buildings. The apartment is tastefully designed with excellent facilities and comforts. Massimo met us as we arrived at the hilltop location and helped us to park our car in a free car park and then took us and our luggage in his car to the apartments. He recommended very good restaurants and was generally extremely helpful.
Our two day stay was perfect.

We asked for the apartment with terrace, and we enjoyed it a lot. The bathroom and the kitchen were separated from the large room and everything was very clean.
The fact that we had our private terrace was very convenient.
We really felt like home and the owner was very friendly.
The breakfast was delicious!

What we read in other comments was definitely true. The appartement was excellent and very clean and the hosts Maurizio and Cettina very friendly and helpful. I (67 yrs) was travelling with my God daughter (29) who has cerebral palsy. All the staff treated her with respect and good humour and indulged her attempts to speak Italian, she has difficulty speaking English! Nothing was too much trouble and when an incident occurred that necessitated a change of bedding, I was assure it was "no problem". The apartment was more than I expected, beautifully appointed and scrupulously clean. A truly wonderful stay.

We had some delays on our way to Enna and came almost at midnight. The owner came with the keys and used his time to explain things without irritation and stress about out late arrival, considering that he doesn't live there.
We had a room with the window facing a small street so it was very quiet to sleep. On the other hand it is located right in the centre and it takes 5-10 min walking to the major sightseeing. Free WiFi was very useful as well.
