  The owner of the apartments was always happy to help us out with any requests we had. We stayed in an apartment with sea views and it was fantastic. We can't wait to stay there again. The apartments are close to the beach and a new supermarket has recently opened up nearby so we didn't have to trek up the main street to the shops. - It was a "... wat mensen zeggen » little Thailand" - nice apartments settled in a hill between palmtrees and flowers with a beautiful see view. We had dinner included in our stay, which was probably a good thing, because there did not seem to be so many restaurants in the area.   The staff were wonderful and very friendly. They were the nicest we have ever had on any trip to Italy. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel was close to town for shopping.   Out of all the different options we had, we (3 friends) chose an apartment managed by Biriola Holiday - mainly because of the huge number of positive reviews. Communication with the manager, Matteo, was excellent and he was very friendly and helpful with everything - not to mention all the great insider tips he had for us! We were glad to be there in the low season, when Cala Gonone is almost empty (i.e. no tourists), - We traveled to Cala Gonone as a young couple and found Residence Biriola very easy to find. Upon arriving we were greeted by Bruno, the elder statesman of the residence, who was quite simply charming. He took us around, showed us the garden at the back and told us we could help ourselves to the fresh herbs and chillis.
