  The location was superb--right across from the duomo which was magnificent in itself, and this lovely small hotel had an outdoor courtyard that overlooked the piazza. My husband and I had a bottle of wine and cheese when the sun was going down, with live music filling the square, and you could not have had a more perfect night! Everything was decorated nicely, and the staff - The rooms were very clean, fresh with a beautiful ambience. The staff were extremely helpful and helped us to find restaurants for dinner. Hotel very well located right on the Duomo square. The streets have beautiful shops and wind around - it is about a 15 minute walk from the cable car/train to the hotel. The Cava Well sight was really great for all the family. Really lovely town.

  After staying in backpackers for weeks, Hotel Umbria felt like the Hilton. The decor is not amazing, but it is clean and well kept, with everything you need. The hotel is a short walk from the train station, from which one can easily catch the funiculare (tram) into Orvieto itself. Definitely good value for money! - This is one fine, honest establishment that makes low-budget traveling attractive. It provides excellent service, fast internet, absolutely cleanand quiet, a hearty breakfast (better than in most other, more expansive places I stayed in Italy). It has convenient parking, and is close to the train that takes one up the hill to the historic center of Orvieto (from the hotel to the center it is about 15min, costing 1Euro).

  We loved the convenience and friendly atmosphere of the Hotel Duomo so much that since we could not easily get to our next stop conveniently we stayed an extra night. It was lovely there in Orvieto. - This hotel was outstanding. It is family owned and operated.   A lovely house in countryside. Very friendly atmosphere. We were late on arrival but the staff left us a note on a front door to ring the bell. So we woke the owner in the middle of the night and he was showing no signs of discontent. It's a nice stay also if you are making a trip by car to Rome and you don't want to stay in Rome's center. Lovely to sit outside in the sun, by the pool, and enjoy our cappucinos and delicious breakfast buffet. We were also offered an espresso on our way out. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable.
