  The location is amazing. We were backpacking as a family, and the central train station is a ten minute walk at most. The 'hotel' is right in the center of the city. The man (Herman) who runs the place is charming, and will ride up on his bike at a moments notice to provide anything you may need. He even brought cold bottled water and left in in o... wat mensen zeggen » ur refridgerator every day. It was very welcome after a long day of walking! To top it all off, our room had A/C and a bathroom with a big, clean show - The location was great, only a five minute walk from the train station and the "main" Piazza is only a short walk away. The man that runs the place is always very helpful and will do his best to make you feel welcome and appreciated. The room had A/C and was clean, the bathroom was big and very nice. You get your own key to the building and it almost feels like you have your own apartment in the city of Bologna :)

  We arrived at the hotel apartment around 6.30pm, an hour or so later than expected. I called the number of the hotel and a lady came to open up for us. She was very helpful and very pleasant and really couldn't do enough. The entrance is a big double gated door which has graffiti all over it and we thought, oh my, but it opens into a courtyard and... wat mensen zeggen » you take the elevator up to the 1st floor where the reception is. It is very homely, the apartments were extremely spacious. She showed us 2 apartmen - Wonderful place with fantastic ambiance. Location is fantastic - 5 minutes on foot from 2 towers, lot of restaurants around. Our number was well-designed, with beautiful antique bureau and table and had (apart from the main window) - a little round nice window that made the ambiance in our room really magical! 2 beds were comfortable.   We stayed 3 nights at San Petronio Vecchio, and it was a perfect base for exploring Bologna as most areas were within walkingdistance. The room and bathroom were elegantly decorated, and it was kept spotlessly cleen. There was also a minibar. Elisabetta, the owner, is a really pleasant and service - Clean and comfortable rooms in great location - easy walking distance to all the sights. Very friendly and helpful owner - even made us tasty homemade brownies and brought in a big bowl of fresh fruit! Would highly recommend to friends and family.
