  The guesthouse was incredible!! We loved the location. It is situated in a very nice neighborhood that is conveniently located a block from the pool facilities. And the pool recreation center was incredible after spending the day hiking! The owners were wonderful to deal with, very helpful and accommodating. Definitely purchase the breakfast ~... wat mensen zeggen » the owners put out a fabulous spread each morning that sustains you for most of the day! We absolutely highly recommend the lovely Guesthouse Árny! - Normal room, comfort place for breakfast. Only 4 rooms on the floor with shared bath, so no queue.

  Despite the fact that the hotel overbooked and sent us to an alternative location for our first night, their customer service recovery was excellent...we got placed in the best bungalow, received a free nights accommodation and a personal apology from the hotel manager. Perfectly placed to explore geysir, golden falls and pingvellior n - Hotel Manager Jon and staff made sure that we were comfortable. The food choice and preparation for us was awesome since we were the only couple that evening having dinner. The hotel is in winter operation, thus visitors have dropped off. Jon exchanged culture info with us. Made many suggestions as to where to visit Icelandic historical sites nearby. Gave a very informative talk on the geological activity in the region.   We went to this Hotel in Jun 2013 as a young couple and really liked the Hotel. The location is stunning, remote but right next to Golden Circle attractions and close enough to Reykjavik. The landscape is truly unique, one site of the Hotel faces a thermal energy plant, which bugged me at first, but after a while I found it fascinating to observe ... wat mensen zeggen » the steam being blown by the wind. The other site of the Hotel faces the lake in remote distance, so you get panoramic 'postcard views'. The Hotel has - The Ion is uniquely located next to a geothermal plant that billows steam and discharges hot water into an adjacent lagoon 24/7. Ordinarily, this would not be an attractive neighbor for a luxury hotel. However, the clean, modernist industrial design of the hotel is complemented by the adjacent plant. The Northern Lights bar is beautifully designed and juts out of the upper floors of the hotel providing a commanding view of the small valley and a sliver of the nearby lake Pingvallavatn. The room
