  Wonderful castle/hotel. The grounds were beautiful, staff friendly and spoke English fairly well for a rural area. Food was excellent. Didn't use the spa but it is available and looked nice from the outside. - Nice staff, park and nature.

  Hotel Opal is clean, new, roomy, walking distance to the historic town centre of Gyongyos. Staff are professional, caring, friendly, helpful. Price was very favourable. I recommend it to people wanting to visit the highest mountain of Hungary to stay here and drive the short distance up- it's very clean, roomy and new. Rooms had a fridge too.   The owner (the man) was very friendly (knows German and Hungarian, his wife knows English+.) It was VERY clean! The bedding smelled freshly washed. We slept in the 4-person unit that's in the tower. It had 2 stories, the top with 2 single beds, and the lower with 1 double bed. We had access to a refrigerator. The location is excellent. Tokaj is a... wat mensen zeggen » neat little town and is a short walk from this panzio. We drove from here to see some of the castles and vineyards in the area. We really enjoyed it. - We received a warm welcome from our landlord, and the guesthouse is just at the end of this small town. His wife, who speaks English, was away, but he speaks good German. He recommended one of the many wine houses for a tasting, and he also arranged for us to visit a barrel maker in his small factory.
