  We stayed in the hotel as part of a wedding party, we had such a wonderful stay and would like to mention Fabien a fantastic hotel manager who couldn't do enough for us he was the perfect host, and very kind and accommodating. The hotel's location is in a beautiful french village and is suitable for families, great base to explore the dordogne. - ... wat mensen zeggen » Beautiful location, great building. Very friendly and helpful staff. The newer part of the hotel (more recently updated) is lovely and stylish.

  This was our first holiday in the Dordogne and it couldn't have got off to a better start. We were very pleased with L'Escale as our choice of B&B. The location is fabulous right next to the river, the rooms are spacious and very clean. The food served on the "Hot Stones" was very good and a nice change from the Regional Cuisine that was ser... wat mensen zeggen » ved everywhere else. Chris and Meryl the owners are fantastic and very helpful. We would go back again and would definitely recommend L'Escale to al - What a find. We stayed at L'escale for three nights on our way down to the south coast of France. Very welcoming and friendly owners, we ate in the restaurant every night as we all enjoyed the the hot stone menu and or pizza, especially our teenagers. Our two good sized rooms were comfortable and looked out onto the garden and were a stones throw away from the banks of River Dordogne. Very handy for a quick dip or hiring a canoe. Thank you Chris and Meryl.

  Excellent accommodation and very central for visiting many of the Dordogne villages and surrounding area. Evening meals are also good value and well prepared.   The host was very welcoming and made every effort to make us feel at home. We were here for a wedding and returned home a little tipsy one night, perhaps making a little too much noise. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable without being intrusive or over the top. Fresh linen and clean rooms everyday. Excellent service in the restaurant and very grateful to our host, who enhanced our stay in the Dordogne. A peaceful location. Would stay again and recommend to friends.
