  The highlight of my trip to Normandy. A magical experience if you take the time to take in the charm of the chateau. But most of all, the Comte who is generous with his time and full of colorful tales recounting his family's history from William the Conquerer through wwii. Our host was great and the family history so interesting. Decorated as you would expect in a French chateau. The dining room for breakfast was breath taking. Not far from Mont Mt Michel We would have loved to stay longer. Would go back in a heart break.

  Everything! Located in a tiny village, but near important historical sites, the b & b is an old Normandy farmhouse, right out of a French film. The proprietors were the perfect hotel hosts: charming, friendly, talented and accommodating. All of the food was fresh from the local markets. (The first night we arrived late and the owner put together a wonderful supper of omelets, farm fre - We have nothing but wonderful things to describe our stay at Chambres d'Hôtes Le Clos Poulain. Our hosts, Didier and Solange ensured we all were well looked after and made to feel comfortable and at home. A beautiful place and location. Highly recommended! Thank you again Didier and Solange!

  It was a delightful 5 night stay at a good price. Quaint village and beautiful hotel in quiet garden setting. Nice room though 3 stories of stairs to climb. Host and hostess were wonderful and so helpful though limited in English. Breakfast was delicious each morning and so enjoyable. We were close to all of our destinations in seeing the D-Day be... wat mensen zeggen » aches,American Cemetary at Omaha Beach and the many excellent museums.We are just 10 minutes from beach at Aramanches . Would stay there again! - This was a great B&B. Ryes is a very small country town in Normandy but it is central to all the D-Day sights (most are within 1 hour drive) and you can go to a nearby town on Gold Beach for great restaurants by the sea. The owner is very friendly and the rooms are well appointed.

  Stayed overnight en route from the Dordogne back to the UK. The Chateau is only a few kilometres off the motorway - yet is delightfully quiet. Greeted enthusiastically by the owner who provided a tray of tea for outside. The family dog joined us shortly afterwards and was equally welcoming. The salons for relaxing and the dining / breakfast area we fou - Fabulous location and beautiful Chateaux which has been occupied by the family for many generations. The nearby countryside & beaches were gorgeous. Staff has passable English skills. Best part of all: not touristy! Very authentic.
