But most of all, the Comte who is generous with his time and full of colorful tales recounting his family's history from William the Conquerer through wwii. Our host was great and the family history so interesting. Decorated as you would expect in a French chateau. The dining room for breakfast was breath taking.   Charming hosts were very helpful. We had booked a double room,but got upgraded to a studio at no extra charge. The latter was quite spacious and quiet with a firm but comfortable bed, large bathroom with good shower and tea/coffee making facilities.All within a 2 minute walk to town. Le Breard was excellent for dinner if you want gourmet food-the ... wat mensen zeggen » fois gras with passionfruit gelee was delicious.Would definitely stay at Le Fond de la Cour again. Thanks Amanda and Craig. - Great hosts and a perfect location next to town. The breakfast in the sun room to start the day (fresh fruit, crepes, warm fresh bread, yum!) was fabulous and good conversation to go with it. A map of the town with suggestions on where/what to do. Nice renovated modern rooms and a playful puppy outside to play with what more can you ask for? Stop searching around and just book it you'll be happy.

  We absolutely loved the location. It was about 6 miles outside Bayeux and only 10-15 minute drive to Omaha Beach. The staff is very friendly, though a couple did not speak great English they made a point to help us out as much as possible. It is very quiet and the rooms are quite large and comfortable enough for a crib and all the luggage we had w... wat mensen zeggen » ith us. Mont St Michel is around an hour away by car and all the famous museums, beaches, monuments etc., are all within 20 minutes of this Bed and Br - Oh my, what a wonderful stay! If you are lucky enough to get a reservation, you will not be disappointed! Beautiful, large, clean, quiet, comfortable room. Wonderful host, whose home made French bread, croissants and apple turnovers are to die for! Lovely breakfast. Good internet connection. Lovely country location - between Bayeux and the Beaches of Normandy. Don't miss this chance to stay in a beautifully decorated country manor house. Pet friendly, too!

  A delightful manor house of some age situated down a country lane which had been renovated by Eric and his wife. He was a very good host who previously worked in the software industry. He and his wife both own Harley Davidson motorcycles but are not "bikers".!The rooms were interesting, all results of brocante hunting I should think. It's an excellent venue for those wanting to visit the Cherbourg peni - Eric and his wife were wonderful in their welcome. The room was spacious and very comfortable. There is a bar upstairs whcre you can relax and all Eric asks you do is write down what you have. There is a superb continental breakfast to set you on your way but as we did, we had a nice stroll around the grounds before departing and regrettably after just one night's stay.

The rooms was very clean, comfortable and modern, with tasteful decoration. The food was amazing and good value for that level cuisine. The chateau itself is amazingly beautiful and breathtaking. Best price-quality ratio. I highly rec - Chateau du Rozel sits in a tiny village on a windswept peninsula. It feels like stepping back in time, staying in your own castle. Lovely grounds, hot water, updated bathrooms, fantastic breakfast with homemade jams from the garden. The nearby countryside & beaches were gorgeous. Staff has passable English skills. Best part of all: not touristy! Very authentic.

  prettige sfeer; men had voor mijn aankomst de moeite genomen om toeristische informatie in het Nederlands te verzamelen en gaf daarnaast een uitgebreide toelichting; eenvoudig, maar zeer goed ontbijt - Bijzonder aardig personeel. Zeer gewaardeerd dat ons een ruimere kamer met een royaler douche werd aangeboden.
