  The owners were superb, friendly and very welcoming, we did not feel rushed to depart the next day. They joined us for breakfast and we sat and talked as we would with our friends. They were excellent with our young children (2 and 4 1/2 years old) and let us relax in their home.   Absolute gem deep in the countryside close to Villefranche s/Saone. Beautiful chateau on a 10th century foundation, beautifully restored, with wonderful rooms, very modern baths, fine linens and towels. Wonderful breakfast, with home made jams, lovely public rooms, and superior hosts. Best overnight stay of a seven week trip in Europe and the best value for money. Do not miss if you are within a - The Chateau is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are outstanding and are located in a totally refurbished stable. Guests have access to a game room in the chateau and a wonderful breakfast is also served in the chateau. The chateau is over 1000 years old and the grounds are quite lovely. Be a great place to walk or bike the countryside. It can serve as a good starting point for a visit to Beaujolais or a visit to Lyon and the Rhone Valley. GPS is definitely useful in finding but it is well

  The welcome was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious with clean an modern bathrooms . There was parking round the back and the hotel was in a quiet and characterful town by the river .   What a little gem this is. When you pull up outside you cant see a great deal of the house etc as its all behind a locked gate. However when you get inside it makes you feel like you are in Morroco. Its laid out like a small Riad. The room is of a very high standard and has a apartment feel about it. The bathroom is lovely with everything you coul... wat mensen zeggen » d need. There is a terrace outside leading to a pool, sadfly the weather let us down on that part so we couldnt use either. However it would be a love - We had a lovely stay here. Very helpful friendly staff and the location was perfect. The car was kept securely inside a locked garage overnight. The accomodation was more like an apartment as it is separate from the main building - although help was at hand if needed. Only a short walk into the charming Bourge-en-Bresse.
