  I find your categories above rather limiting as they cannot convey the very special ambience of this historic converted convent/monastery - yes for both monks and nuns! My husband and I were staying in the region for a wedding. We were looking for comfort in a historic setting, peace, good fresh food (without being gourmand foodie), a pool to co... wat mensen zeggen » ol off in and friendly staff. All this was provided in good measure. The staff were charming and attentive to all our needs. The interior design of - A beautiful and historic property in a lovely village overlooked by a fairytale chateau. Great staff, gorgeous garden on the banks of the river Charente. Highly recommended. Thanks for looking after us so well and supplying us with plenty of sauvignon blanc to stave off the (unseasonable) chill. We'll see you lots more no doubt when we complete on our house purchase just down the road. That's something to look forward to isn't it??
