  Where to start... This was like dropping into a piece of paradise. Located 5km from the city of Carcassonne, so we needed a car to get there but well worth the drive! Lovely chateau, staff, amenities and food. The staff was very helpful in giving us directions. Allowed me to practice my French by not directly converting to English (until I struggl... wat mensen zeggen » ed for the words). I felt even more at home when I discovered the little french kitten in the courtyard! Surrounded by vineyards, our walk through the - Stayed for 2 nights so we could explore the medieval city which is a short drive away. This is certainly worth a visit. The Chateau is a fabulous old building with bags of character although worn in parts. Room was adequate with view over the grounds. Restaurant is closed Monday evenings so we ate in town. We booked to eat on the Tuesday evening and had set menu which included bottle of wine. Meal and wine was ok. Busy restaurant so might be wise to book in advance.

  The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Room was nice and clean and the housekeeping was coming every day. In the room there was also tea and coffee facilities, which was very nice. I had a breakfast in the morning and food was very good - good selection of hot and cold food.   The hotel was very well situated for a comfortable 15 min walk to the Old City. For those who cannot walk to far, there is the local tourist train that leaves from the doorstep and takes you directly to the Old City. The hotel is very easy to find and the off road parking is a nice bonus. We paid a lot less staying here than staying in the Old City itself. - The hotel was a typical French hotel. We opted for this hotel as we wanted something that wasn't like every other hotel chain. Quirky and very different from your chain hotels. Our room was quite big for a French hotel and the decor was as we expected. We stayed in room 23. The breakfast was French as you would expect and all the staff were polite and friendly.

  We love to stay in this apartment as the room is spacious with many kitchen equipments (except water boiler). My dad could take care of himself with cooking tools while my mom and I were not around. It is very convenient for travellers who like to focus on old historic city as it is only some minutes away but make sure you need to be fit to climb ... wat mensen zeggen » up the rock floor.. - Space. It was pretty big the apartment for my famility to stay (couple + 1yr old baby + 3 yrs. old child). The location was perfect. Very close to the castle. The access is very good to go walking. Not recomended to go to the castle with the baby trolley but this has nothing to do with the hotel/appartment. Very very good price/quality ratio.

  The staff were without fail helpful, friendly and cheerful. The accommodation was perfect for our purposes - a comfortable, clean, convenient, modern place to stop over whilst touristing! Our second visit. We recommend it without hesitation! We also recommend, very close by, L'oeil, le Resto, for a very good traditional Southern meal. I left my PC charger in the room and they were good even enough to post it back to me at my home address. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable.   Staff was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. We were able to keep our bags locked at reception after check in. Carcassonne is a great little town enjoyed walking around everything is close by and restaurants all have free wifi hotel also gave free wifi. Experience was excellent! - Location, helpful staff, fantstic air conditioning in my room ( but not all rooms have this available apparently). 1 block away at the park is a bus for 1 euroor the petite train for 3 euros to take one to the castle. Bnp ( Bank of america bank about 3 or 4 blocks away). The hotel is 1 block from the train station right across the canal and my room was nicely quiet.
