The location is perfect, just 10 min walk away from Qianmen and Tiananmen Square, you can also find subway and bus quite easily around there.
The cafe bar is really nice, good place to meet friends.
Beds are pretty comfortable, I stayed in a 14 bed dorm, quite a big room, not crowded at all. The A/C works well, hot water 24 hrs, and oh! the bar opens 24 hrs as well, which is a bonus!
The price is quite reasonable in Beijing, esp at central area.

Personal ist sehr freundlich und spricht gutes Englisch. Besonders eine Person der Rezeption sprach sehr gutes Englisch. Zimmer sind sauber und nett. Gute lage zur U-bahn Station 10 minuten zu Fuß. We stayed in Beijing at Xiao Yuan Alley Courtyard Hotel for 3 nights. It is lovely small hotel in Chinese style. It is very friendly, pleasant, comfortable and cute! It is situated in an old Beijing district Hutong, which is probably the only bastion of traditional Chinese climate left. It is situated max. 30-minute walk from the Forbidden city.

Featuring charming, ultra-helpful English-speaking staff; the Xiao Yuan Alley hotel provides comfortable beds and good facilities, with a superbly located downtown hutong (Beijing alley) location, sensibly priced organized tours (if you wish) and excellent and very reasonably priced food available inside and nearby outside the hotel. And it's a very affordable place.
I very much want to stay at this hotel again. I get happy just thinking about it. Highly recommend.

The location was excellent. In the middle of the Hutong. We stayed in a traditional room which was very spacious. We also rented bicycles at the hotel, which made it very easy to visit the sights in Beijing.
From the airport we took the AIrport Express to Sanyuanqiao and then took a bicycle taxi, because we had read on letsbookhotel.com that car

By its very nature I was immersed in the Hutong and saw how those people live on a daily basis.
For one week I got to feel like a real Beijinger living in the Hutong (albeit a fancy Hutong) and see the culture in a way that is impossible for a tour group staying in a fancy hotel.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Tienanmen Square, in a very colourful area with plenty of restaurants and shops.
The room was simple but clean, the towels were changed every day.
The hotel has also a very cosy bar/restaurant area, mainly used for breakfast, and one or two computers are available if you need to use the internet.
Most of the staff speak English and they are happy to give you advice on the best ways to get to places.
