  We are a couple from Mexico in our fisrt trip to Calafate. We found Hosteria Meulen wonderful and clean. Hostesses were very nice and always worried about our satisfaction.   The hotel locates at the end of the main street and took me less than 10 minute walk from the hotel to the town centre. Even so, the location did not cause any problem because (1) there were supermarket, small shops, restaurant, fast food stores next to or opposite to the hotel; and (2) all local tours offered hotel pick-up and drop-off services.... wat mensen zeggen » The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The wifi was weak a little bit at our room but the connection was strong at reception and common area. The sta - Spacious room, big comfortable bed, nice little balcony with lake views, friendly helpful staff, nice breakfast, good common areas, good wifi. The service was excellent - we accidentally dropped a bottle of white wine on the floor and it smashed and wine went everywhere - they sent someone to clean it up straight away. The reception staff also booked a Minitrek tour of the glacier for us after we tried unsuccessfully to get a response ourselves from the company running the tour (Hielo Aventura)

  Gabriel, the host, was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel and rooms were decorated with a lot of taste. The hotel was located near the bird reserve and lake. It was very peaceful to stay at this hotel. The hotel has a restaurant that serves specialities from Patagonia. You have to pay the hotel in cash in order avoiding 10% in more but this is an information you know as soon as you reserve and they remind it to yo - Staying at Cauquenes de Nimez was one of the best travel experiences we ever had. It is not a place for those looking for luxury, but instead you will find a great staff that will make their best to make you feel like you are at home. Have a free cup of tea at 6 o'clock looking at the birds flying over the Nimez laguna and waking up with the birds singing is really fantastic. Located only 15 minutes-walk away from the center of the city. Thanks Sr. Gabriel and the team for the great hospitality

  No need to haul luggage through broken concrete sidewalks in 40 mph winds when this hotel with wonderful staff is just right across the street from the bus station - very comfortable stay, room was clean and warm. staff was great - very pleasant and helpful. right across the street from bus station was nice too.

  Excellent place. It is really a “boutique” hosteria, similar to an upscale American (not British) B&B. New building with stylish, Argentinian estancia-themed décor—lots of varnished logs, exposed stone, etc. Large, elegantly furnished common areas, delightful breakfast area, and large outside deck, all with expansive views over the town, lake,... wat mensen zeggen » and mountains. About a 10 minute walk to town, but you will need to use a cab when first arriving with luggage since the road is not paved all the wa - Lovely styling, view, breakfast. Very comfortable. Staff speaks very little English but helped me with many things with my broken Spanish ( did a great job with laundry and reasonably priced, taxi in the morning, booking me for another day, holding my suitcase while I travelled elsewhere for a night.
