  We are a couple from Mexico in our fisrt trip to Calafate. We found Hosteria Meulen wonderful and clean. Hostesses were very nice and always worried about our satisfaction.   We spent 2 nights in El Calafate, wished could have stayed longer to extend the stay at La Cantera. Service was perfect, Giorgina in particular made our stay soo easy, smooth and hassle free that made us happy to be there. Recommendations for excursions were right, breakfast was very good (ask my gf for the homemade cakes), room big and clean. The tours organised through the hotel were cheaper than those we had researched online. Thanks!

  Accommodation was more than adequate. We were sharing with daughter and son-in-law and we were pleased with the space and equipment (except kitchen equipment - see below). Having breakfast delivered daily at or about the time specified was a real bonus.   We loved staying in the Santa Monica Apartments. The log cabin was really cosy and we were very comfortable. We enjoyed our delicious breakfasts which were brought to the cabin each morning. It's just round the corner from the main street in El Calafate so really conveniently located. The service was exceptionally good.   Located very close to the bus terminal and the town. Staffs (Mother and the son) were very very helpful and flexible with the payment, check in/ check out time and so on. One day we had to leave at 5:30am, breakfast starts at 6am but they left coffee and breakfast for us. Room was big, clean, and has all the basics. I recommend this hotel! - New owners since May 2013. Making it a warm welcoming place. We stayed 4 nights. Superfriendly, English and Spanish speaking. Very helpfull, especially Ramiro who helped us with everything we asked and more, even with our bustickets to ibera! Nice big comfortable rooms, clean with comfy beds, great breakfast. Close to busstation and one block from main street. We warmly recommend this place! One of the best places we stayed at in Argentina!

We really liked how, given our interest in learning the language, she took the time to teach us phrases before venturing out for a hike, eating breakfast, and when checking in. There is a very nice kitchen, available to all guests, in a separate building, which contains couches, a tv, tables/chairs, refrige - Very friendly and helpful staff (speaking very little english though).
