The location is the key factor, actually next door to the Alamo and very close to the Riverwalk area and the Mall. Felt safe to walk in these areas even late at night. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is a standard room in an old historic hotel, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast that was included was good. Staff at main desk very helpful in confirmation of flight which meant I had a fluid passage thru security due to having pre checked.
Breakfast wonderful but evening meal was not very nice at all.

The breakfast was our favorite - fabulous! Also liked the indoor stairwell since I try to use the stairs. Enjoyed relaxing in the lobby area where he TV was and snacking. Our driver, Rioberto, was very friendly and helpful - even when it didn't involve driving. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed the grounds around the hotel and location of hotel.
