This is the real Hawaii! Our children visited on the lanai and cracked fresh macadamia nuts. In the morning we drank rich Kona coffee, from the local landscape and delighted in sharing adventures and insiders knowledge over a perfect breakfast. Easy location to beaches, restaraunts, and sunny Kona weather. Kurt's family home surpasses any destination hotel or resort. We longed for it after moving on to other parts of the island. 5 stars.,

I stayed 5 nights at the hostel and it was great! Roommates are from different places of the world and most of them are very friendly and I made a lot of friends there. It was October and not so noisy as I expected in the night, which was good, and it was fairly convenient and economic for a backpacker to stay. Mostly importantly, the location was extremely good and it was just a couple of minutes to the beach.

We liked the price and that the rooms were spacious. We loved having two balconies and that the room had dishes and a kitchen if we wanted to cook. The location was close to the strip and trolley stop right in front of the door. There was also a convenient ABC in the lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a problem with the air conditioner in my room making clunking sounds when turned off and I was all prepared to demand a new room, however, after reporting it to the front desk it was fixed by maintenance by the time I returned in the afternoon. Considering the price of other hotels in the area it was good

Staff were really friendly and got an upgrade on our room which was nice. Room was massive and had a bit to sit outside although it was just overlooking the street outside. Good watermelon water at reception on a hot day! Close enough to the beach without paying beachfront prices.

Location great, and the restaurants and shops on the ground floor were a plus - the Creme Pot is charming and convenient for breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly, went out of their way to be accommodating. Great view of the city from upper floors. -

Stayed here for 1 night just to sleep after a late night flight in before moving onto the beach front. Staff were friendly and offered us a free upgrade. Room was very clean though dated. Although away from the beach it is really only a few minutes away and you can still see the ocean. Great for travelling on a budget in Honolulu. -

The room was of good size and the view was nice. There is LAN internet in the room with high speed. Also there is a cafe and a shop right in the building, which is very handy.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Its location to Whalers Village and the beach are perfect. Our view of the ocean and the golf course were great and we had a five minute walk to the beach cabana where they had beach back rests and towels free to use for the hotel guests. The room quality ranges from 1 star to 5 stars, each with increasing price. It would be helpful if this were advertised on letsbookhotel.com. Luckily the hotel had a better room available than the one star unit we first saw.

Kuhio Banyan is right in the middle of Waikiki just two blocks from fabulous beaches & walking distance to the Honolulu Zoo, restaurants, shops, and superettes.
