The location is great. Right by the water and in a 'real' part
of the island. Don't take any notice of reviews that say the
neighbourhood is unsafe. It is a working area and there are fishermen
with gear etc. It's real!!
Staff at the resort are very helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. Good to have the pool, canoes and snorkelling gear available

It was only a 5-10min walk to the Seven Eleven, and Mike’s Hulu Chicken truck and a grocery store where you can also buy alochol and foods. The room had hot plates and a microwave and kitchen. So that was more than fine.
The scenery was just magnificent. The water and beautiful rich green mountains with mist. I loved the fact that it was so far away from Wakiki. (Too busy for me).
My studio room was enormous and my bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is lovely, nice rooms, comfy bed. They gave us a complimentary room upgrade for our honeymoon. They are renovating at the moment so I imagine it will be more modern look in the future. The pool and beach are fantastic and loved the pool bar. Cocktails delicious! -

I thought Rhisa, who checked me in was a wonderful concierge who helped me with all my inquiries and had bell hop take all my treasures up to my room! Davey, the IT person helped me get my Wi-Fi set very quickly! The room I had was in the far side of the main building where it was quite and no problems with getting around. I was very pleased with

I was concerned about the property after reading reviews & was
pleasantly pleased with everything about the hotel. Noise was not an
issue as so many reviewers said. But it is a city so there will be some.
We closed our windows at night & slept well. Great location. Buses
out front. IHop across the street. Staff went out of their way to help
whenever approached. I would stay here again.

Excellent location close to beach and away from the foul street smells and crowds near Outrigger and other hotels. Room 722 was nice with a glimpse of the beach and service staff friendly, excellent and helpful as were the downstairs concierge people. Room comfortable with adequate space for two. -

The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was always cleaned well.
The location was very convinent, bus service and walking friendly. The breakfast were good (coffee excellent). The lobby was very nice for having coffee and reading the AM paper. Again it was nice and quiet with wee view of ocean, Diamond head and city. Could leave the sliding door open all night.

The hotel was good in facility and even has a swimming pool, although I didn't use. The mountain view room has just a few blocks in the view and was good to me. The room was pretty large for one person, clean and with all necessary items except you have to bring your own tooth brush and paste.

The Hilton Hawaii is a very grand and posh hotel. So obviously expensive. Facilities are very good. 8 swimming pools. Eateries. Shopping mall. Grocery etc. easily available. Beach is poor and stony. You can stay in the hotel and enjoy. Staff is helpful but because they have over 3,000 rooms, there is a huge crowd during check-in and check-out whic

The condo was on the beach and offered excellent facilities. It was
light and airey and there was free parking facilities and wifi.
Geographically the condo was easily to find and was in a good position
to access other places on Maui. It was lovely to wake up in the morning
to look over the Pacific ocean. There is a good well looked after pool.

I really enjoyed the location. We were close to everything needed and had easy access to a great long stretch of sandy beaches. It was nice to see and listen to the ocean each night as we went to bed. People were friendly and could enjoy morning and evening strolls down the beach. The rooms were well kept and very clean, I was very pleased to have a washer and dryer in our room. I would recommend staying here to anyone and for a repeat stay.

I came with my then wife on a 25th anniversary trip in 1997. Since then there has been quite a bit of development of other hotels in the area since then but there is still a feeling of space because of the surrounding golf courses. Access from pool to sea is excellent.

A very friendly B&B in Pahoa, the innkeeper, Irene, was super
friendly and helpful. I was feeling ill the day I arrived from a week-
long cold, and Irene made me ginger tea immediately. I felt so much
better the next day. It's a motherly touch that a large resort
cannot replicated (which I stayed at before arriving at Lava Tree).
It's something so small as that that can change your entire vacation
and make it bettter. The home was clean and the breakfast was delicious.
