This place is a 90 year old hotel and it wears it well. It's elevator is a clicketly-clack apparatus with a scissor gate-that you have to hold the floor number for a couple of seconds to roll- did I feel safe using it? Yes. Did I think it added to the ambiance? Absolutely. The hotel obviously has had infrastructure,safety and comfort improvements

The Abigail hotel was comparatively inexpensive, basic accommodation but
quirky and my room was clean and provided a comfortable bed, clean linen
and towels, a bay window overlooking the Museum of Asian Art and a
compact bathroom. Loved the lift!

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in mid November. I have seen people raise there eyebrows when they learn this hotel is situated in Tenderloin area (which is considered a bit shady area). Staff is very friendly, location of the hotel is very good, just 15 minute-
walk to market street, also if you have car, car park is very good and
also there is a door between the car park and the rooms for the
security(it's openned by the reception). The area is not secure
especially at night but there are two routes which you can reach at the

The front desk person was friendly. I like that you have to be buzzed in and I like that everyone who enters the hotel has to pass the front desk. Also for longer stays they have laundry facilities. -
This place has a decent nightly rate and a great weekly rate if you can get them to honor it.

Walking distance (5 mins) to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. We were only in town to see a concert and this hotel was a great place to stay the night afterwards. It's not really fancy, or spacious, but it's good place to rest your head for a great price. The staff was friendly as well. -

If you rate European as a hostel( not as a hotel) it is wonderful. Of course its not a hotel. Small but clean and comfortable beds. Clean bathrooms. Nice kitchen with free coffee. Met nice people. Located in a convenient place. Value for money. Very helpful staff. -

There is no negative thing i would mention.
The room was new and clean. Breakfest ok. Really good position of the hotel is just perfect (about 10min to the Town Hall)! The park place is small but all the guests found a place while we were there.
And finally yes, there are some homeless people arround the hotel, but we didn´t feel uncomfortable or

The Regency was easy walking distance to everything I needed in SF: Union Square for my conference, the BART line to and from the airport for a reasonable price, and tourist attractions like the F line to Fisherman's Warf. The staff at the Regency was very helpful and friendly.

The staff was amazing! I had a unique situation, with moving halfway
across the country with my new job, allergies, & a car. They worked
with me and accommodated all of my wishes. The eggs (whites), fruit, and
waffles for breakfast were big plusses. Also, the Wi-Fi was secure and I
needed that for work. I will probably stay there again during my
transition. The neighborhood is great too!
