Even though the facility itself "looked" dated, the room was exceptional. I liked the Temperpedic mattress and the headboard "made" the room. It alone gave the room more of a "luxury" feel. The room truly was spacious. Oh, and I loved the hard floor instead of carpet. The hotel is convenient to just about everything one would need. And one last thing, the staff were exceptionally professional and friendly. I will definitely consider this hotel the next time I am in the area.

I also love that the rooms have bamboo (a nice faux wood type) floors instead of carpet. It took us less than 5 minutes to get to the beach. There was a strip of nice shops just down the road and it was about 8-10 minutes to Destin Harbor Walk and beaches. For a budget friendly hotel, it was great!. The room was completely spacious! I loved that the room had hard floor and not carpet, and the bathroom was pristine! For the money I paid, it surpassed my expectations. The staff was curteous and answered my questions. The bed was so comfortable. The hotel is in a great location for restaurants and driving to Okaloosa Island or needing to visit Hurlburt AFB or Eglin AFB. But its closer to Hurby. I love this hotel whenever I ever come back to Fort Walton Beach Florida this will be the hotel I will be staying it the rooms are very clean the location is very nice about two and a half miles from the beach and for the price you can't beat that nice clean swimming pools justthe right sizewhat more can I say. set back off Hwy...quiet good firm bed large clean room good breakfast helpful friendly staff hot water plenty of towels good location to beach area good location to church & Antiquing they let me check-in a day early & we stayed here 4 nights. (More of a non-issue for me.) *I understand the automatic lighting in the elevator, but I did not feel safe using it at night...so I used the stairs. *Also, I did not like having to pay for ice, however, I do understand because the ice machines are outside. The bed was okay, it was a little too firm for my liking, but not such a big deal that we just couldn't take it. We really enjoyed our stay. The towels are really rough and thin. I understand the need for cost and budget, but the towels could use a replacement. there is a drinking lounge close by and one night there noise and hollering that woke us up...but it ended soon. Breakfast wasnt standard fare. For the price though, not a major issue. The lights above the bed were too big and bright. The trim was off white and the walls bright white -- would have been better to have walls a softer neutral. My pet peeve in motels is that the blackout curtains let in light at the bottom, sides and top, which rather defeats the purpose for those of us who crave darkness for sleeping. The Fairway Inn was no exception. The breakfast area will need a second waffle maker for the morning crowds. The towels needed fabric softener. Room cleaning was not timely. We called to get linens and trash removed before a nap, and they showed up appx 30 mins into our nap, Wah, Wah. Lol!!. Only stayed one night. calling this hotel a 4 star is a pretty big stretch. It may have ticked all the boxes but the pool was tiny, and the breakfast was lacking. We found the only inconvenience was they did not leave enough towels in the room, and the Toliet paper was poor quality. I like nice carpet in rooms, just feels cozier. breakfast was just ok coffee could have been better with real half and half instead of powdered creamer. Could use a bit more choices on the continental breakfast. breakfast no coffee pot in room. Breakfast was awful!. Staff spoke very little english. The breakfast included in the price of the room was a fraud. There was no juice, no cereal, no milk, no egg, no pastry, no waffle. Just white bread and terrible coffee. And powdered creamer and powdered milk. Really False Advertising in my view. Wish it were a little bit cheaper. n/a. it wsa on the main strip . Decoration in the room was a bit strange. There were no lamps in the room. There were lots of bright overhead lights. It needed some more warm, soft lighting. If I stay there again I would actually take a lamp with me for bedside light. The free breakfast left a lot to be desired. Only bread, some sort of cinnamon role thing, and a waffle maker. At least there was hot coffee. $0.25 for ice, moldy shower curtain, next door to a bar. very old run down 1/2 star just a bed and toilet. After the first night we went out to the beach, when we returned our room door was wide open. I assume that house keeping had forgot to close it when they finished. I informed the front desk and they seem to blow it off. Tv was outdated. Cable didn't have all the channels or adult entertainment. Remote was taped up so the batteries would stay in place. Free breakfast was a joke. Was a waffle machine in which u had to make your own waffles, toast, muffins (2 kinds) and orange juice. Had to pay .25 for ice. Pillows was too small to accommodate a king size bed. Between the tub and granite surround there was mildew which was very bad. The whole room had a terrible sour odor. I burned a candle and sprayed air freshener to no avail. Breakfast was very slim, I would not even say they had one. A waffle maker, white bread for toast, stale mini white powder donuts, orange juice, and coffee does not make a breakfast. When we walked in the room smelled like mildew and everything was damp. The toilet paper and sheets just felt wet and disgusting! There was hair all over the bathroom and it looked like the door to the bathroom looked like it had been puked on! Nasty, nasty, nasty! I guess the room was cheap and you get what you pay for, however this place definitely does not deserve 4 stars online!!. The room was a smoking room. Boy you could tell as soon as you open the door. Might want to invest in plug-in deodorizers or frebrez the room. Maybe air the room after visits. The door in room 340 bathroom was broken. Advertise hbo but it was not available, false advertising. The phone did not work and they did not leave enough towels. Attendant was rude, difficult to understand, I'm a foreigner and was unable to understand, front desk always unattended. Cheap prepacked breakfast. Treats customer as low class citizen Charges upfront for stay Lack of confidence in patron, perhaps due to previous experience. Loud AC. Had to pay for ice, what the hell. For that price I would have rather stay at extended stay. Motel 6 have nicer accommodation for much more reasonable price than this establishment. The front desk staff was horrible! Bed mattresses were very bad, No support for the back, my neck began to heart immidietly after I went to bed. Even though it's 10 min from the beach it took us an hour to get to it due to traffic, and we could not find public beach in time befor dark. shabby, room smelled musty, bathroom door warped and bathtub had remnants of glued on mat, had to pay for ice, trash cans overflowing, poor and meager "hot breakfast". It was not a hotel as advertised and the facility was fair at best. Not sure how or why it was rated a 4 star Hotel on letsbookhotel.com???. The room smelled terrible. For a room that was supposed to be a non- smoking room why would there be an ashtray in there? The phone didn't work the air conditioner didn't work until the staff came and reset a breaker, they we had to do it again. This was supposed to be a higher end hotel, according to letsbookhotel.com, which it clearly was not. My toilet leaked. Besides the bed headboard there was a small hole in the wall. Pool area wasn't to clean. Breakfast was a joke Every time the fan turned off it made a noise like someone hit the wall woth a hammer No glasses (plastic or otherwise) in the room .25 for a bucket of ice?.
