Situated in the scenic village of Tollard Royal in rural Wiltshire, The King John Inn is a Victorian building built in 1859. It offers free Wi-Fi and free private parking, as well as a wine shop where guests can purchase any bottle from the restaurants extensive selection.
Guests have the option of eating in the open-plan bar or the restaurant. Food is sourced locally when possible and the menu changes depending on the season. The bar provides an ever-changing selection of imported drafts and local beers as well as an extensive wine list.
The cathedral city of Salisbury is within 20 miles whilst Shaftesbury, a hillside town in Dorset, is less than 20 minutes by car. The King John Inn sits within a 5-minute walk of the historic Rushmore Park, an area of lawn and open woodland, which includes Rushmore Golf Club.

Cosa dice la gente
We only stayed one night so not really able to comment. However, we were delighted with King John, we were attending a party in Iwerne Minster and hopefully next year when there is another party we will stay for a bit longer. Hope they let us know in time when the party is and before you are booked up. My husband said it is the nicest place he has ever stayed.
The King John Inn is pub, restaurant and B&B of great character. We found it very clean, the staff were friendly and the food was freshly prepared and very good. Our 'standard' room had a good quality TV and coffee maker etc and the bed and bedding was of very good quality.tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
Beautiful location and setting
Fantastic breakfast and value for money.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Couldn't do enough for you!.
The guest room was gorgeous. All the staff were friendly and very efficient.
Lovely rooms and helpful friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay.
The area itself is stunning.
Not being able to stay longer.
We did not view any other rooms but we found that our room (3) was a little small in as much that we did not have a chair or table. There was a small wardrobe which was adequate but the adjoining cupboard containing the coffee maker and kettle etc was all a bit tight and difficult to use. The small en-suite was expensively equiped but we found the shower difficult to use comfortably. Overall we enjoyed our stay but thought that at £120 per night was a bit overpriced.
Leaving!.
The prices for food and drink were rather expensive.
Misinformation when I booked the hotel about how far it was to walk
to the larmer tree festival. I was told 5 minute walk in fact it was
over 2 miles.
Room too hot, no air-conditioning and no fan. Very small window
overlooking the seating area outside which was the only source of any
air, which was minimal. Disappointed with our stay having reviewed the
feedback from others prior to booking. Some staff very aloof, some
extremely helpful.
Wi-fi didn't work
