Great atmosphere, and lovely friendly staff. The rooms were wonderful. We were so taken with the hotel, we extended our stay - which the staff managed for us perfectly. The restaurant was excellent, and a nice place for an evening. The bar likewise, good ales and wine, and the atmosphere of a good pub (with a great terrace too, if the sun's shining) - perfect. The breakfasts were great too.

The Penally Abbey has a distinct charm and ellegance that is not always to translate into words. However from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated to very personal hospitality, which you don;t find in budget hotels. This is what you pay for and it is the reason for the difference.

We really loved the location of the hotel. Lovely welcome by the staff most welcoming and friendly. Our room was lovely and spacious, with lot's of character. The meals are excellent especially the evening meal. Compliments to the chief. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Would stay again. Wonderful! Thank you, just wished we had stayed longer.

too steep, in fact it is a lovely stroll to the beach (very close) and
town. The hotel in my opinion is the best positioned hotel in Tenby

Staff were very obliging. Beakfast was served to you which is a novelty these days and all the staff were polite, helpful and had time for a word with you. Would not suit any one disabled because there were a lot of steps, despite there being a lift, the steps needed negoiating for reception breakfast etc. The view at the hotel over Tenby was a 10 out of 10 but you need to appreciate the hotel is positioned on a hill so you need to be able to walk up and down to get in to Tenby and back.

Everything was outstanding, we have'nt stopped in the giltar for a few years, but on our arrival I was amazed at how different it was. It said on the web site that it was being refurbished, it was stunning. The minibar & the lounge was so comfortable, once I sat there I didnt want to move, the rooms were so clean & beautifully refurbis

We love Tenby and normally stay in another hotel but went for Giltar this time. Hotel is lovely, and in middle of refurbing the rooms which will make all the differecne when all rooms are upgraded. We, unfortunately did not have one of these rooms, but we did have a sea view. Breakfast was very nice, good quality foods, excellent staff service and good coffee!!

Staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly, and the place had a very nice chilled-out atmosphere.
The hostel looked a little 'retro' from the outside but inside is modern with very good facilities (what looked to be brand new shower rooms etc).
Place was very clean, room was warm with a good view - the nearby cliffs are stunning! -

Staff were really friendly and helpful, there was a good atmopsphere in all areas of the hotel. I left my phone charger in my room on departure and they were great about sending it on to me, very efficient! I had heard that parking could be an issue after reading other reviews on the hotel but I parked straight away, directly in-front of the hote

The atmosphere when you arrive is friendly, even though they were hosting the local school fete in their garden. The room was nice and clean and quiet.We asked about evening food at 17.00 to be told that they don't start serving until 18.00 but when they found out we had to be away before that they flashed up cookers and made the best

Staff always friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much for them to do.
Food excellent with local produce and fish caught daily. All meals cooked whilst you wait with generous portions.
Rooms very comfortable with genuine features as this inn was a farmhouse about 200 years ago.
Will be going back for another stay next summer and would happily recommend this inn.
There is plenty to do and see within about a 25 minute drive. Scenery magnificent.

We were on our second visit to the Normandie and were delighted that we had the same room, after eating out in other locations we promised ourselves we would stay and eat at the Normandie next time......got that right, excellent and good value for money, also excellent choice of drinks. Definitely will return. -
