What an absolute delight it was to stay at The Leicester on a recent trip 'up North'. A stone's throw from the beach and within easy walking distance of a plethora of bars, bistros, shops and major attractions, this small, intimate, beautifully appointed hotel, is perfectly situated to explore Southport. Exuding the genuine warmth & hospitality of a bygone age, Louise & Lorraine are two of the nicest, friendliest most welcoming and considerate hosts you could possibly wish to meet. Thei.

Fabulous breakfast choice ,excellent smoked salmon with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs for me and great kippers and poached eggs for my husband and son.Liverpudlian wit and warmth much in evidence and hides a lot of hard work and competence.Given good recommendations for restaurants locally and made to feel comfortable downstairs as well as in our ro. To say that the Leicester was clean does not begin to describe it. Immaculate is the only word. A more friendly and welcoming arrival which continued throughout the whole stay could not be wished for. The room was very comfortable. The hosting was pleasent, Louise was around and chatty but not over earring and her recommendation for dinner was spot on. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. A gem. Liked everything. Friendly, efficient staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Obviously much thought and care has been given to the tasteful, attractive decor. Can't recommend it highly enough. Great location too....in a quiet street but within easy walking distance of Southport shops and prom. My room was very warm with only one window for fresh air. Can honestly say there was nothing we disliked. Very small single front room but no space for a chair to sit on,. The door at the top of the stairs was rather stiff to open, especially when I had a case too. No full length mirror in room. Bedroom a twin room with shower. I would have preferred a double with bathroom. The shower wasn't very powerful & breakfast was early on Sunday morning. nothing. The weather. nothing. nothing. nothing. Leaving :-(.
