The staff, in all respects, in all sections, were exceptionally helpful. The rooms were comfortable, the grounds delightful and the food excellent. Most rooms quiet - away from bars, resturants and function rooms. scenary surrounding hotel. Comfort and friendliness of staff. Comfortable Room. Quiet, clean, lovely location. Convenient for our visit to Sheffield at this time. Room particularly clean and comfortable despite the weather.

Location. comfortable quiet room, good friendly bar. Friendly and helpful staff on reception.the room, the bar area, safe parking. Good parking and well kept gaerdens. Easy access to place I need to go. The building and surroundings. Spacious room, hotel's exterior appearance was good. The setting is very good. Heard loud music from next door, from a noisy private reception, during time of stay meant we could not open the windows on a very warm night. breakfast took one hour to be served . the standard of the hotel was let down and to alot of people. Staff having a disagreement within hearing of guests. Bedroom was set up for one occupant eg only one water glass. bathroom wasn't clean. Overall ambient temperature was dry and over warm. Charging an extra £10 per person for breakfast seemed very steep, and put me off having breakfast. There are many places only 10 minutes away charging much less for a full English breakfast.Noisy wedding disco till midnight. The bathroom. minor detail, electical lead dangling from the ceiling with termional blocks at it's end. The pieces of stripped PVC sleeve from this were still on the floor. Either the tradesman hadn't cleaned up or the hotel staff hadn't cleaned the room, though in other respects it was fine. the rude barman!. Access to the dining room, too many stairs. The staff were useless.Decor was in need of updating - thread bare carpet and old furniture. En suite bathroom smelt very unpleasant. Didn't like the fact that breakfast was not included. The hotel is a bit run down and dated, threadbare carpets are in evidence. The breakfast had low quality ingredients and it was deep fried instead of grilled.lack of bar meals. room was shabby - carpet threadbare to the point you could see the floor boards. Frosty reception. Room too warm - could not adjust radiator temp. Whole hotel very tired, even varnish on reception desk was worn. Carpet threadbare, en-suite had mildew on the tiles and a hole punched in the back of the door, and the windows were insecure (gnd floor room).Very basic room, like a Travelodge and for the price I would have liked a more luxurious feel!!. The room smelt damp and on closer inspecition it was the bedding that smelled. The bathroom also had an unfavourable odour. It was not a good experience.
