Fantastic breakfast which was cooked to order as given a menu sheet to choose options the night before. Informative folder in the room full of useful information about the local area such as directions, things to do and restaurants etc. Well stocked tea tray in room and owners very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The Grainary is a working farm, with a B&B on the side, so if you like the atmosphere of a farm, off on the edge of the moors, you'll love it. Children are especially well catered for, as they have every imaginable farm animal in the fields near the house, plus dogs, rabbits, a ferret and certainly one or two I've missed. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing, the best we've had in an English B&B!! Freshly cooked to order and hot! Our room (No 4) was huge and very clean and comfortable, in fact the hotel place was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend The Cordelia to everyone. The staff were extremely helpful to me and my small children. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the children feel special over and beyond the call of duty. The hotel was clean and well presented and excellent value for money. Being a single parent with two small children I find that most hotels leave us to our own devices which can be a little daunting. Gary was very helpful and totally understood the need to accommodate needs of guests like myself.

All the staff were excellent and welcoming. The entrance, bar and lounge have been recently renovated and look far better than 7 years ago when I last stayed here. The lift is ‘Quirky’ with a certain old fashioned charm. Redecoration has just started on the staircase (Nov 2013) and I am sure it will be better for the work. The location for shopping is excellent and the hotel has its own secure underground car park, although it is a short walk from the hotel. The food is the best in Scarborough.

We had a lovely sea view room, bed was really comfy. Good sized ensuite bathroom. The room was nicely decorated and felt modern. Breakfast was good its nice to have a non greasy full English. Ian and Virginia were really nice and talked to us about what we were going to do in scarborough.
