  The hotel building was very impressive, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was superb and the food was excellent. Ideally placed for us, as we were attending the March & Rally for Scottish Independence on Calton Hill that weekend. We only stayed two nights and didn't have time to use the spa/pool but it looked really nice. Ideal for romantic walkings around the top Edinburgh attractions. We spent there lovely 3 nights during Easter, everything was good, staff very polite and helpful. Beautiful room with all the expected facilities. I would recommend to everybody.

  This hotel is like my view of an old hotel should be steeped in history and splendour. It was a pleasure the rooms are not modern although they do have the touches like the plasma tv and modern bathroom. Overall I would not change anything about the hotel it was perfect.   Breakfast included smoked salmon and many other options. Quiet location in a very pretty setting, really excellent staff who were very helpful. Beds were incredibly comfortable and we got a lot of sleep. Lovely pool and spa area. - Good fitness facilities. Good dining room, breakfast and dinner.   Easy hotel to relax in and all personnel were very helpfull - The hotel is set in superb grounds and is remote from the village and very quiet. It has great facilities and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
