  Everything about the Charlotte Street Hotel impressed us - the hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained, the staff were excellent, and the room was perfect. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a deluxe room, which made the trip even more special. The nice small touches personalised hand written welcome card and gifts, washroom accessories, mini bar facilities, honesty bar, the staff. The list is endless this was the most wonderful place to stay in the UK if you want a city break.

The room we had was fabulous - they had taken note of what my husband had said on the booking form - that it was a birthday treat - and as a result we were upgraded, got a birthday card from the management and complimentary birthday patiserries. The food at Roux (2 x Michellin Stars) is superb. Afternoon tea in the Palm Court is an absolute must. Gym, sauna, steam room, pool and spa pool are all very well equipped.   Everything! Everything was fabulous!! We were met from our taxi by the doorman who asked our surname, which he repeated into his lapel. We walked through the revolving doors and were met by a lovely lady who greeted us by name and showed us the hotel and finally to our room.   The staff were brilliant and really put themselves out for us. They upgraded us to a massive double suite with champagne and chocolates. Excellent staff with personable, friendly, helpful and courteous manner. Nothing snooty or subservient or obsequious either. Breakfast was fantastic. Smooth, easy process for us. We were on our honeymoon and "splashing out" as a one off but the one off will be our first choice anytime we are in London.
