The location of The Ship is good, in a lovely village. We were able to park right outside the door. Staff were welcoming and the room was lrge, very comfortable, with everything we needed and nice extras like bottled water and biscuits. The breakfast choice was excellent and we also had an evening meal which was very nice, with generous portions.

Needed to stay in Gatehouse of Fleet for business and found the ship-inn was ideal for this. The room was very clean and comfortable with Wi-Fi which allowed me to work in room. The food was great and I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. All in all a great stayed which I would recommend to anyone.

The hotel was heaven made for dog owners who like to include their pets in everything that they do. We were able to have our dog with us all the time, including meal times. The quality and size of the room was very good value. The service was excellent - I was even welcomed with a complimentary tea and cake.The breakfasts were very tasty and generous & the evening meal I had in my room was superb value. Great location overlooking the town square. The town itself is very pretty and definitely worth a visit. I would not hesitate to return and can thoroughly recommend it.

We liked everything about it, the hotel was ideal for us, very comfortable and spacious rooms. the food was extremely good and a very varied menu. the staff were very professional and attentive to our needs, even the locals that popped in we got to know. We spent three nights at woodlands and would have loved to have stayed longer.
