Very friendly owners, they were more than willing to help and were lovely to chat to giving it a lovely personal feel to our stay.
The room was very luxurious, the bed especially was amazingly comfy!
There were walking route plans provided to help walkers and to give ideas to visitors as to which areas to visit.
The owners had great local knowledge which they were more than happy to share so that we had a more enjoyable stay; they told us about the great little local pub which served great even. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
Everything about the stay was delightful. From arriving with a warm welcome to recommendations for food that evening, Alex and Jeff were very helpful and polite in everything they did. One particular aspect that stands out in the breakfast, a stunning selection of everything you could ever wish for! Home made bread and scones with homemade jam, lovely! The room that me and my girlfriend stayed in was expected of somewhere of this calibre, very clean, very comfortable and a nice place to be. Ale.
My stay at Laurel House was really enjoyable. The house is lovely and my room was very smart and cosy. All mod cons were available – warm towels, a good strong shower, hairdryer, tv and sweet tea set. Additional touches were nice – such as being given carafes of iced water and fresh milk when I went to my room at night. Breakfast was also delicious – fresh fruit and yoghurt followed by a good selection of cooked food – the fluffy scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were a great start to each d.
This was a wonderful place to stay! Alex and Jeff were extremely welcoming. After a long journey, we were greeted with scones and tea, which we ate in the pretty garden. It was my fiance's birthday, which I had told them in advance, and we were given a (free!) chilled bottle of cava to enjoy in the sunshine. The breakfasts were excellent and our room was very comfortable. Overall it was one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in, and if we go back to the Lake District we will definitely stay th.
Alex and Jeff were friendly and welcoming and ensured I knew how
everything worked and didn't make me feel it would be a nuisance if
I needed to ask for help. This was particularly appreciated on my
journey as it was a long haul and there were hold ups but they were so
understanding and immediately I spoke with them the tension disappeared.
Attention to detail. Great recommendation of place for an evening meal.
Lovely breakfast with as much produce as possible locally sourced and
home made.
Alex and Jeff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Nothing was too much for them to do. They happily accommodated my husband's Coeliac's disease and the breakfast for me was enough to feed a horse. They were also helpful in making suggestions about where to visit locally for food and places of interest which was lovely. I also cannot forget to mention Holly & Bramble, the resident dogs who were very friendly and even showed us down to breakfast in the morning!. What can I say ? This is simply the best place I have ever stayed (and I have stayed in many places far and wide). The owners were accommodating, the rooms perfect, the bathrooms huge, the breakfast awesome, recommendations were amazing (go to the Garden Centre for dinner you will not regret it!!!). Some small details we really appreciated. For example having proper shampoo and hand wash. In short, a B&B with a massive personality and owners to match. Perfect!!!.
Laurel House was a homey, quiet and friendly place to relax and enjoy the surrounding area including the Lake District. The main draw is the quiet location and attentive hosts. Alex and Jeff were more than gracious and generous with their home. I felt very welcome and free to do what I wanted while staying there. The accommodations were modern, new, well maintained and spacious by English hotel standards. I will go back if I have a chance.

Alex & Jeff are amazing and Laurel House is superb. We felt like we were staying with friends.
Laurel House is packed with history. It is comfortable, cosy and clean.
Alex & Jeff's knowledge of local places of interest and their hospitality (and use of local yummy local produce for breakfast) added to the our enjoyment of staying in the Lakes District.
Thank you making our stay in Culgaith (also our honeymoon) memorable!!!.
Alex and Jeff made you feel like you were staying at the home of a very good friend! What a little gem. We stopped over on our way to the Scottish Highlands and it was a great break. The room was very comfortable with everything you would need. They even arranged our booking at the local pub. Breakfast was substantial with great chat around the table. Thanks for a great experience.
One of the best B&B's we've stayed in!!! Alex and Jeff are lovey people made us feel very welcome and booked a meal for us when we arrived at the local pub. The room was fantastic!! Very clean and breakfast was great filled us up for the rest of the day.

Alex and Jeff are great hosts, and Bramble and Holly are very entertaining! Our room was very comfortable, and the food was great. The tea and scones were greatly appreciated after a long day of walking!! My wife felt very spoilt on her 40th birthday. Laurel House is a great base for exploring the Eden Valley on foot and by car.
Such a warm welcome given by the host's, Alex & Jeff. They made our stay one to remember. They just couldn't do enough for us, making our stay one of the best we have experienced. What a lovely home and superb Breakfast. Also what two delightful little dogs they have, Holly & Bramble, They are sister's. So well behaved.
Charming house & Geoff and Alex took great trouble to make my stay comfortable with a warm welcome on arrival and attention to every detail. Spotlessly clean everywhere, comfy bed and a HUGE breakfast. Great B&B with delightful hosts, good value and I'm very happy to recommend.
Very helpful, friendly and attentive hosts. Comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. Great dining out options in the village. Will definitely be making a return visit.
Excellent b&b accommodation. Friendly owners, very good breakfast and beautifully furnished. Location, a few miles from M6, makes a good stopover for Scotland etc.
We were made to feel at ease and very welcome.
Our room was decorated to a very high standard with little extra touches which made it even more special.
Excellent hosts. A most memorable weekend. delightful food at Laurel House and Mrs Millers. Nothing was too much trouble for Alex and Jeff.

Everything.
Everything. nice place, fantastic breakfast, great pub nearby serves food and a good real ale selection. very good B&B.
Toilet system was a bit noisy at first, but it actually didn't bother us or affect our stay at all.It was moderately difficult to find, but this is a really nitpicking to the point of being completely and totally petty!!!!.
Nothing.

There was nothing to dislike.

Nothing. hard to find in dark, wi-fi not in all rooms due to 18" thick walls (make sure yours has wi-fi when booking). owners a bit erratic - friendly at first, then telling me not to go back when I ONLY gave them 7.5 out of 10 on another site (despite a very good review). Odd idea of customer relations :).
