  fantastic place, food was cooked from fresh,delicious , reasonable priced, owners fabulous. On arrival we w - From the moment you arrive I can guarantee you will feel at home. The room was quiet; had shower and was immaculately clean. Food was amazing; I had fish pie and t'other half impressed with meat quality on his pork chop. Oh plus 6 cask beers from on site brewery also oiled our evening. Lovely big breakfast followed by short stroll down to Waswater lake. This is a hidden gem of a place. Staff pride themselves on customer service; everyone friendly.   Loacation was perfect for Wast Water which we wanted to explore. Breathtaking scenery all around the hotel. Easy walking distance to local pubs. - The valentines 3 course meal was great and we went horse riding, the hotel staff were excellent at arranging this for us.

  yself and my husband and another couple stayed 1 night and chose this hotel due to the location - close to seascale but the location was beautiful the bar was a typical country inn type, the staff friendly, food was good & the Kamikazi real ale went down well. We love Country Villages we would definitely stay again. - We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.
