  the hotel was superb, the room was very much a 'country house' style and was one of the nicest hotel rooms that I have stayed in. The breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce and the staff were very friendly and helpful.   Everything! The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was huge - more of a suite really - and was very comfortable. The pub itself was cosy and welcoming and it was nice to have the choice of eating in the restaurant or in the bar.We stayed 3 nights and ate at the hotel every evening - the food was very good and local produce was used. We would definitely stay there again. - This was a really well run and looked after inn. The very friendly and helpful staff made the stay enjoyable. This is well worth considering as a base from which to visit the surrounding area or as a stop off on your journey. It is close to the Granite way cycle trail and would be a good staging point on the Devon Coast to Coast
