We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. This is a fantastic place to stay in a perfect location. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful.
Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover.
Self catering provision was excellent.
Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games).
Loved my stay.

The ambience at Middle Ruddings is excellent. The staff have a laid back easy going efficiency and pay much attention to detail;nothing was too much trouble. A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the food - what can we say but 5 Star with emphasis on top quality local produce cooked with flair and presented with style. The breakfasts were exceptional especially the smoked haddock. The property was convenient and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The view along the park and river is beautiful. We loved it and would definitely suggest the place to others. We parked right along the road by the hostel. -

This B&B has a wonderful location - close to town centre. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was great. Our hosts. Joan and Michael, were friendly and helpful. A most enjoyable stay. Good family-run hotel. Owner stayed up to open the door with a smile for us even though we were running late and reached only at 10pm. Next morning, his staff said if you want anything to eat that they don't serve, she'd go and buy for the future breakfast. WOW.
Location is great and room is clean. TV is antique, really cool.

It is a lovely Guest House in a very good location. Maria & Mary were very friendly and helpful in every way. Our room was a good size with bay windows overlooking the hills in the distance. The breakfast was superb with a wide variety of food to choose from. Would definately recommend to anyone except those who had difficulty with steps or

Everything. Clean spacious room. Tea coffee biscuits all provided. Bathrobes as well. Ensuite was spotless. Connor nd his mum were excellent hosts. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of fresh fruit cereals. And a full English . Parking was outside the hotel. All in all an excellent weekend was had. Highly recommend this guest house .

When we got to Lakeside House we were personally shown to our room - No 1. The room was very roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was huge! The location was brilliant - just a short walk to the centre of Keswick. Breakfast was excellent - particularly the Eggs Benedict. All the staff were friendly and gave us good advice on places

Everything! Warm and friendly, welcoming, respectful, happy and competent staff, wonderful breakfasts beautifully prepared/cooked, decor restful with warm tones modern but not clinical. And the view from our bedroom window was truly spectacular. We will return without hesitation or doubt!

Malcolm and Jennifer could not have been more welcoming. A lovely quiet hotel a short stroll from the town centre. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the breakfasts were magnificent. Will definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone else. -
