Located in the heart of Keswick, opposite St John's Church, Strathmore Guest House is an adult-only, Victorian accommodation with free Wi-Fi, free parking and traditional breakfasts.
Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Most of them also have views of St John's Church and some have mountain views.
In the morning at Strathmore, a cooked breakfast is served in the inviting dining room. Special diets can be catered for on request.
A 2-minute walk from Market Street with its many restaurants, shops and pubs, Strathmore is also just a 5-minute drive from Derwentwater Lake. There is free storage and a drying room for bikes and wet gear.

Very nice B&B just a few minutes outside the centre of Keswick. We had a nice room, on the first floor, with all comfort necessary for some beautiful days.
The owner is a very friendly person, giving all the info needed to spent some days in and around Keswick. Not only regarding walks but also regarding tearoom, pubs,... He takes also care of your wet clothes (rain, falling into a river,...) to get them dry. Great typical English breakfast ! Everything about the guest house indicated a concern to serve the
residents to a high standard. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was nicely prepared with plenty of main course choice. The
owners were friendly without being intrusive. The view from the rear
landing stairs, if you are on one of the upper floors, of Latrigg,
Skiddaw & Blencathra make a great start and finish to each day. And
it's only a quarter mile gentle downhill stroll into the centre of
Keswick. Five star.
We had a really lovely welcome from Paul, the owner, and throughout our stay he did his utmost to meet our needs and make our stay as happy as possible. This included providing a very early breakfast on the day of our departure. The breakfasts were exceptional with slow roasted tomatoes, fluffy, fresh, free range scrambled eggs and delicious organic coffee of particular mention. The hotel was very well placed for walks to the town and the lake. We had a really excellent stay.
From the moment we arrived the proprietor of Strathmore Guest House came out to the car park and assisted us with our baggage, we were impressed.
There after he took the time to accompany us to the room and made sure we were happy.
Also we had early starts for the next 2 days, but he made sure if we required breakfast outside of the usual times, he accommodated us, and it was excellent. We will definitely be coming back but as a leisure break next time. Thank you.
A warm and welcoming family run guesthouse in a quiet location, yet within a short walk to the cinema and the shops etc of Keswick. Relaxing decor in the bedroom and very comfy bed! Views to the rear are of rooftops and hills while there is a lovely church across from the front. Handy free parking at the back. Lovely touches like ipod player/radio, and wine glasses and corkscrew. Great breakfast.
Excellent host - very friendly and went out of his way to make everyone feel at home. Brilliant breakfasts - well cooked and presented. Room very clean and comfortable as was the en-suite shower room. Location perfect. Didn't need the car at all during our stay as everywhere in Keswick was within walking distance and the buses in the Lake District are excellent.
Strathmore Guest House was located in a fantastic position. It was only a few minutes walk to the town and some excellent pubs! Our double room was quite small but very cosy. The property has it's own car park which seems to be quite rare near the centre of Keswick. Paul was an excellent host and breakfasts were a highlight! Thank you for a most enjoyable stay!.
stayed here for 4 nights, the host were very friendly, they couldn't have done any more for us. The room was a nice size for the 2 of us, very clean room, comfy bed, nice view of the mountains, breakfast was excellent, all local produce. Only a 2 minute walk from Keswick town centre. I would recommend this B&B to anyone else.
We booked a double room for a long weekend break.The room was spotless with a very comfortable bed. Our hosts Paul & Jodi were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast was amazing, you couldn't wish for a better start to your day. We wish we had booked to stay longer - we will next time!!.

The owners were very friendly made us feel at home in no time, the place looked lovely and it was really clean. The delicious big breakfast was just what we needed before a nice walk in the area. Paul the owner was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, good choice of cereals, fresh fruit and fresh orange juice. The full English /vegetarian breakfast was high quality and freshly cooked. Room warm and comfortable, lovely towels and duvet .Would definitely go back.
This was one of the best Guest houses if not the best I have ever stayed in.
Everything was perfect,a good quality breakfast with fresh fruit,cereals and a perfectly cooked breakfast.The rooms were spotless with a very good shower in the en-suite.I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Paul was incredibly friendly! He even took his time to explain to us the several walks we could take around Keswick! Breakfast was freshly made, the cereals were of excellent quality. Really enjoyed the nice comfy duvets at night.
Paul was very welcoming and helpful. The room was superb and views stunning. Breakfast was a high standard and was in front of us within minutes of seating. Keswick is a 30 second stroll. Would recommend and definitely stay again.
I really Enjoy my Stay at Strathmore hotel, The staff where helpfully even I miss my Taxi Driver but he help me to call a Taxi driver and came to pick me up. the rooms are nice and clean with the best breakfast.

The Strathmore is ideally situated for everything in Keswick you might want to explore. It's close to the centre for restaurants/bars and only a few minutes away from Derwentwater, walks and parks.

The staff were friendly. The guest house was central and very welcoming our room was ready earlier than we expected, which allowed us to park the car up and enjoy our day. Good breakfast.
