Ideal location, great pub with excellent beer & food (I can especially recommend the pies!), friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast excellent - just remember to ask in advance if you want it earlier than 8am!.
Staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The family room we stayed in was roomy enough and comfortable. The food is delicious. Overall a lovely place to stay for a visit to the lakes.tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
Friendly Staff that want to help. Even opened breakfast earlier just to accommodate my early start. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Rooms are a nice size and with free Wifi it is even better.
Good clean rooms, plenty in the way of facilities, friendly and accommodating staff, serves good food & beer plus a hearty breakfast.
Staff very helpful and welcoming. Cumbrian Breakfast was excellent. Overall excellent value for money. Would stay again.

Good value for money.
It was a friendly and comfortable inn.
The food was excellent and not expensive.
The whole atmosphere, friendly owners and staff.
Friendly staff and great breakfast.
the food was excellent the staff were all polite and friendly.
food good and staff very friendly.
The staff were very helpful and keen to please. The standard of the evening bar menu food and cooked to order breakfast were very good. A good bar with good real ale and log fire. Great location setting.
Rooms are basic - a little dated and could do with a spruce up - but fine for the price.
The bathroom of the room we were in could do with a bit more attention to detail on the cleaning, the skirting boards were dusty and toilet could have been cleaner. I understand though that they are due a refurb in January.
There's nothing to dislike - it is all good.
Slightly let down by hair found in shower cubicle from previous occupant and bed very hard.
Room was clean but lots of cobwebs
Steep narrow staircase to room.
Rooms a little on the small size, but it was an old Building.
Showers require upgrading.
the room was too small and several items not working the radiator replaced with a portable electric heater
the wardrobe door did not close. the toilet seat was off its hinge the window did not lock also the bed was not comfortable room was more like a single.
room was 'tired' en suite and shower needed replacing.
Th place does not know what is wants to be, either a pub or an inn for guests. The guest bedrooms desperately need decorating and painting. The stair and bedroom carpets are very thread bear.
My shower conversion had not been completed with bear plaster board, dirt and cob webs still on show. Have stayed in better pub / inns for the same price. Pity, could be so much better.
