Steve and Cath gave me such a warm welcome, and were happy to help wherever needed. Including making me a packed breakfast when I had to leave very early. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with good size rooms and lovely facilities. The location was perfect, literally 10 minutes walk from the outlet village, 5 minutes to Anvil hall for wedding ceremonies and only 2 minutes from Gretna Hall. Could not have picked a better place, and great value for money. I will be back!!.

Perfect for what we needed and would definitely recommend for our wedding guests in June 2014. Breakfast was superb. Lovely couple who own the place were nice enough to chat with us and give advice on the area. The location is excellent. We were greeted by the owner and made to feel very welcome by her. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We would recommend the Alexander to everyone. The guest house proprietors were amazingly friendly and helpful, extremely caring, and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Food was excellent with a fair and varied choice. Everything but especially the hosts friedliness and the breakfast. Will certainly recommend to all my friends and will stay again when in the area. Very clean, owners friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our one night stay and would recommend. Location and parking good. It was perfect from arrival to departure. Great location, fabulous breakfast, comfortable bed, lovely hosts. Although there is space for car parking, it is a little cramped when trying to move around, especially when there are a few cars. The room was quite small and I think staying more than 1 or 2 nights would have created a feeling of 'clostrifobia'. Nothing, but took a bit of searching to find, then I wondered why I did not find it on first pass. The tv on the wall although a late model was too small. there wasn't anything I didn't like just felt shower cubicle a bit tight!!. No issues. not many good places to eat and all very expesive. Breakfast was a little bit smaller than others we have had on this trip but it was included in the price. One more wee sausage and it would be perfect. A bit hard to find there was no road number on the booking or website. There wasn't anything we didn't like. nothing to dislike. No negatives. nothing.
