Cosa dice la gente
We were attending a wedding in the area and the Dukeries seemed a good choice in terms of distance and price - we weren't disappointed. Staff were accommodating to our needs (we had to check in slightly early) and very friendly. The room was spacious and clean, and the tea and coffee making facilities were a plus we didn't expect. There was a 24hour entry and exit for guests so arriving back late wasn't a problem. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
The lads behind the bar were very friendly, especially the assistant manager, Carl, who was very helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was good. The staff in the morning were cheery and again very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very hearty and set us up for the day!.
We loved everything about this hotel. There was six of us and the staff could not be more accommodating. The breakfasts were enormous. The evening meals we paid for and were delicious and extremely reasonable including the drinks. Bedrooms were extremely comfortable. Lovely olde worlde charm!.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The room
was clean and comfortable. There was a restaurant downstairs with good,
reasonably priced food for dinner. It is only 1 mile from the Sherwood
forest visitor center.
The location to Centre Parks was our reason for staying here having spent a day at the spa.
Fantastic value for money. Food and drinks very reasonable and good quality. All staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds!.
Food and staff were excellent . Have recommended to family and friends for next year as my daughter is getting married at rufford mill and reception at center parcs. Location is excellent .
Very friendly helpful staff.Great location.Nice area-short walk to shops & Sherwood forest.Good parking area.Great food.
I would definitely like to stay there again. My rating 4.99/5.
The staff were really accomodating and fitted us in with a valentines table when we hadnt booked. Nothing was too much trouble and the food and drink were lovely.
The Dukeries was ideal for our trip, close to where we needed to be for a charity event at Sherwood Forest, good value for money and I would recommend the hotel.
Perfect location, nice room with a fire escape exit if required, friendly staff. Great location for Sherwood Forest. Food good and a very reasonable price.
The good choice of food available at any time in the large restaurant, and not too expensive..
Loads of free parking.
Tea making facilities appreciated.
Went to a gig at the Forest - ideal location, friendly and adequate, clean and would definitely stay again if up near Nottingham/Sherwood Forest.
This is our second visit as a family gathering and found the accomadation and food and ales good.Made to feel welcome by the friendly staff.
The staff were very pleasant, helpful and professional. The food was very nice - both adults and kids meals and the beer was very tasty!.

Staff were extremely helpful. Room was lovely, but the bathroom pretty pokey.

Lovely little village setting
Quiet at night.
Staff very accommodating over storage of bikes. Good evening meal.
Cheap price. Everything you need for a practical overnight stay.
Very comfy and stylish. Room was comfy and perfect for my needs.

The closeness to lots of attractions.
Helpful Team. Food. Warm and comfy.
staff cleaner and waitress v. good.
Good breakfast and friendly staff.
The size of the food portions.
Cheap, practical.
Loved the building and the fact that it was a pub as it meant the food and drink was very reasonable! Room was as good as any equivalent franchise hotel room.
Staff responded to our problem with the room and offered a better room
promptly. Breakfast very good.
convenient for Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park
easy parking
Edwinstowe is a nice little town.
the lady in the kitchen was lovely and was very efficient and friendly. her name was Lynne.
Downstairs very pleasant, food average in the bar during the evening. Breakfast good.
Convenient location. Good breakfast apart from cheap sausage.
The breakfast was very good. The shower was also good.
The bathroom in our room (7) smelt of urine - as the toilet was empty I can only guess that the floor hadn't been cleared? Though my other half didn't notice the problem as I did. I didn't get chance to tell the staff this the following morning.
It would have been nice to have been given a menu for breakfast - my partner had the full english but was disappointed that he discovered he could have had bacon sandwiches instead (he's not a big fan of a full english).
Unfortunately, the waitresses in the evening were not as friendly. Desserts, teas or coffees were not offered when main course was cleared. Barely a smile was broken or a word spoken from them.
Nothing!!.
The bathroom was tiny and the room a little dated HOWEVER for the price we paid we were more than happy.
Bedrooms could do with an update . Ensuite was rather claustrophobic.
Tiny wc & tiny shower cubicle.Lots of stairs.
There was nothing we didnt like!.
The bar shut promptly at 11pm and this was disappointing as we arrived back from our charity walk at 10pm and could not get any food and had limited time to clean up and have a drink.
Nothing.
A silly thing really, but there should be a plug in the wash basin. Had to block it each time with a flannel.
Noisy air conditioning(?) fans or other all night did detract a bit from a good night's sleep. Bathroom door wouldn't shut properly (no prob as I was sharing with sister, but might have been if sharing with friend).
Nothing realy.
There was nothing at The Dukeries Lodge that we didn't like! So much so, in fact, that I have just booked to stay there again in a few days!.
my stay was to short.
Room Very Warm so had to keep window open which made it noisy but to be fair the weather was humid but could of done with a ceiling fan.
Bar not opening until 12am on Saturday even for residents.
No hairdryer, no mirror with plug to plug in and use my hairdryer/straighteners. Had to keep straightening a bit then rushing to the bathroom to finish, then back to the room to plug in again.
Not much really. Bedrooms a bit basic, but clean and tea and coffee making provided. TV not fully working, but good shower.
No major issues and I will still stay here again.
Walls thin so a bit of noise from around the hotel and the road outside.
Food offering downstairs well below average, although it's a nice pub/bar to sit it and have a drink.
Bedroom light could have been tad brighter (being picky).
Could not book a taxi and really hard - not hotels fault just remote location.
Over use of low power energy bulbs - rooms therefore dark.
Fan not working in the bathroom hence the dreaded 'mould' on the ceiling.
A bit noisy being above the pub but very quite after closing time.
Nothing.
Poor bathroom, with small shower.
the plumbing was noisy and the room was overly warm,.
nothing.
The plumbing was extremely noisy through the night when other guests used the toilet - No sleep ;-(.
Plumbing noisy shower a bit smelly.
two single beds pushed together as a base with a double mattress, not particularly comfortable. The quality of the breakfast was terrible considering the price of the room.
Noise from the kitchen machinery/extractor during the night (room at back of hotel over the outlet). Not too loud but noticeable.
Missing sink plug. Wobbly tele, Dirty shower plug hole.
double bed pushed against wall.
Room a little dark ie lighting pour.
Curtains didn't do much to keep the dawn light out.
Having a bathroom viewable from the outside!.
Bedroom has no heating room was freezing.
The bathroom was dingy and the drains smelt bad, I think because there was some kind of "Saniflow" system, which kept making loud noises as it equalised the pressure in the system.
The bedroom decor of brown paintwork brown carpet and brown furniture
with maroon wall painted anaglypta made a gloomy atmosphere. Room 1 was
hot and noisy as near an external heating vent. No mattress cover
beneath sheet. Mould on one wall.
Room was not serviced on second day there, bed not made, no clean towels or bins emptied, not good with baby nappies!!
Room 8 extremely narrow as water waste pipe runs down one side in a large box, hard to get my size 11 feet down there between the bed and boxing.
the attention at the at the reception was non existant.
The room (8) very dark and uninspiring, needs a revamp. Bed comfortable, only two hangers in the wardrobe - the lighting was very poor......
Cramped room, tired decor, smell of disinfectant in the bathroom, which was also gloomy and dark.
The room was too hot with no way of turning it down. The cooling unit for the kitchen under my window was extremely noisey. Poor lighting in bedroom. No headboard on bed and decorating shabby.
