Cosa dice la gente
Carperby is a typical Dales small village, with a small number of Stone cottages/houses close to Leyburn & Hawes. The Wheatsheaf is a lovely friendly pub/hotel with 15 rooms and has some wonderful views, walks and local attractions. The management, Claire offer a clean comfortable environment with typical Yorkshire hospitality & good quality food (also nice log fire on cold days) A lively bar is frequented by many locals to provide a great atmosphere. Local beers & quality wines . tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
From the minute we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. The staff are so welcoming & really cannot do enough for you. Our room which was room 9 was a four poster & it was lovely, absolutely spotless. Food is great, also the real ales. Claire & Emily are great hosts, and really made our stay fantastic. We will be returning again very soon. Would highly recommended the Wheatsheaf, brilliant place, great location, absolutely stunning views.
Everything was spot on, as soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Room was exactly as we expected. The food in the restaurant was lovely ( huge portions!) and excellent service. Definitely recommend the Wheatsheaf - and we will be staying again next time we are in the area.

Large comfortable rooms within easy reach of the local attractions, in the heart of Wensleydale. A relaxing residents' lounge. Good beer.
The people were all friendly including the local customers. This helps to make the stay even better than it would otherwise have been.
We enjoyed every moment of our stay and as we had stayed on a number of occasions in the 20th century we were always made welcome.
Friendly, relaxing place to stay in a beautiful location - I was only there for one night, but would stay again for longer.

-friendly staff
-food
-mattress.
At the moment the Wheatsheaf is in the middle of some extension building in the car park which restricts the car parking availability - soon be finished. Being of an older generation we found on-suite baths, without showers difficult but managed. (we understand only one room has a shower).
Nothing that could be improved.
The weather.
only that their wasnt a bath, but no big deal.
Nothing apart from not staying long enough! Will be back.
perhaps the dining room a little too crowded at breakfast time. just a personal thing, not to my liking.
Four poster bed was very small, room was very warm, and being on the main road noisy if you opened the window to reduce the temperature. TV was poorly positioned.
Parking at rear, especially outside the annexe. I damaged the bottom edge of my front bumper on the raised flag stones and it going to cost a lot to repair. I suggest this be made safe so that it cannot happen again.
There was a noisy extractor fan that seemed to go on and off all through the night.
Nothing.
SNOW!!
Maybe pillows could be softer?.
Wi fi restricted to lounge only.
There was nothing to NOT like!!!.
Wifi only available in the lovely lounge.
there was nothing to dislike.
Nothing!!!!.
WiFi available in the room doesn't reach the bar so hard to plan next days walk whilst enjoying a beer and a meal.
Nothing.
nothing.
everything was perfect.
Shower was a bit wee.
The shower was too small
The sink didn't have mixer taps.
WI fi had been turned off overnight so we couldn't access until staff appeared and we usually awake early.
car park and rear of hotel needs tidying up.Enough room to make a nice drinking area.Bit more care in the room cleaning department, fresh bath towels each day, used the same towels for 3 days.
Shower door. Not wide enough unable to get in for shower.room6. Bed linen could do with improvement. Pillows could do to be replaced. Also brown towels not very attractive.
Lackadaisical staff, young people, never saw a "grown up".
They ran out of brewed coffee
at breakfast.
-temperamental shower
-curtains in bedroom falling off the track
-pillows.
