The owners of Axalp Mr.Peter and his family are the best part for
choosing this mountaintop, nature friendly hotel.we thoroughly enjoyed
our stay there. We cooked everyday here .and can surely say that one can
not find any better equipped hotel kitchen than this. Our kids loved this
log house feel of the hotel. Mr. Peter and his family are great hosts
and he can help you make the most of your trip. The amazing Geissbach
falls are only at 10 min driving distance from the hotel and the
beautiful lake. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
We stayed for 5 nights at Barghuus Axalp and had a woderful time. Peter
and Michaela are great hosts and this place is true value for money. Not
luxurious but clean, comfortable bunk beds, decent bathroom and common
facility to cook eg. A microwave, a fridge, owners shop nearby with most
of things you might need. Excellant surroundings to feel the swiss hill
village life. There are not many people as most houses are holiday
homes. Peter loves to talk and is a great company. Happy that we chose
.
Amazing views, very friendly informative staff, very homely atmosphere. Our children really enjoyed the sleeping arrangement -- they could play both outdoors & indoors and they absolutely loved the friendly owner ! The 8km uphill drive to the house felt endless the first day (since we reached in the dark), but 2nd day onwards, it was absolutely alright & we were actually enjoying the drive :-).

(7) good price considering location and accommodation.
Very clean room and bedding. Separated cutlery for each room to room. Perfect for family with children since they like duplex triple bed very much. The shared kitchen has everything for self cooking.
The owner of the hotel Peter Rubi is wery friendly and kind man. The room was nice and everything was wooden. The kitchen was very useful....
Very nice owners.Children were very happy to be there. Also would recommend the wood carve trekking tour.
The hotel owner was extremely helpful and caring. We will definitely come back to the same hotel.
Owner is very friendly, beautiful view of mountains at the yard. Close to giessbach falls.
Friendly staff. Fully furnished kitchen for use. Clean rooms, excellent views.
The wooden bath outside was really nice.
The owner Mr. Rubi and the satff was really very nice. The location was great aswell.
If you are not driving your own car, then you need to take care of your
commute to Interlaken, which is about 30-35 min from the hotel, and is a
must to go for all your connections.Plus you should try to reach this
hotel in the daylight as you can easily get lost at night. We also
reached past midnight after getting lost, but Mr. Rubi was there to
warmly welcome us.
It is 15 km from Brienz with a narrow road leading up. You should have a
car to move around otherwise you are stuck. There is a Post bus stand
nearby but mobility is an issue. But with a car its 15 min to Brienz and
30 min to Interlaken.
Road leading up to town was very steep. Need to use caution and be aware of driving technique
Not bad, but no gas stations/ATMs/food stores near by, need to come prepared.
Overall, nothing bad specifically about hotel.
Somewhat far away from main road, continuous uphill driving for 10km. You must have a car to reach there and arrive before darkness.
There was nothing that I didn't like.
About 15 mins. in curvy road from highway to Axalp.
If you are looking for a typical touristy place with good connectivity to train stations, attractions etc., this is not your place.
The rooms were very small and with bunk beds. We went with family and kids so was very inconvenient to stay. We had booked for 4 nights but evntually had to shift somewhere else just the very next day. Not at all comfortable for the family. There was a zero luxury. But it could be good for solo travellers.
