  Very helpful staff (all of them speak English, which is not always the case in Spain), clean rooms, just a few metres away from the main square (Plaza Mayor). Good breakfast and cooking facilities to make your own meals if you want to.   staff didn't speak much english but were very welcoming and hospitable eg the gentleman at reception when i checked in took great care to make sure the wifi worked for me! and recommended a great breakfast place around the corner when i bumped into him in the morning as i was walking around. the hotel is recently renovated and was clean and neat.... cosa dice la gente » local art work was particularly nice touch. and had wonderful view onto the city walls and the windows (with shutters) opened, a great plus. the wat - Well-appointed rooms in a Hostal that offered a breakfast option and an on-site restaurant.   James, the receptionist went out of his way to assist me find a free parking place (he stood in it and kept if for me whilst I moved my car - top marks, this wouldn't happen in a UK city!) The room was as expected for the price and very close to the City. James was also very helpful re advising on breakfast and he showed me where to go on the free... cosa dice la gente » map provided - real asset to the Hostel. - On the first day, my request was not satisfied, but after I said so in the letsbookhotel.com, the owner soon corresponded to it. In the other points, they keep cleanness of the room and are very kind.

  the hotel is two minutes away from the bus stop and no need to take the car into Segovia.this was most convinient and inespensive. - Short bus trip to Aqeduct. Hotel opposite Aldi for cheap wine and nibbles. Nice restaurant, friendly staff. Ample free parking.

  Clean and tidy. Restaurant good. Staff friendly . Central for the Gredos North side .Walks within 10 mins drive although linear there and back - It was very difficult staying at the hotel garabatos, as not one member of the staff could speak english which made life very hard going

  I restarted the Camino de Santiago in Ponferrada. I stayed at this hotel on the night before the walk. Needed a good sleep .Had a meal at the hotel which was tasty and prepared me for the camino. Desmond - Stayed while walking the camino. Great location in old Ponferrada. Easy to find. Small room but comfortable and clean, no complaints

It is just across the street from the walled city, specifically right across from the Puerta de la Santa, with a restaurant on the top floor (that being the level of the entrance to the walled city) and lower floors given to reception and the rooms. Rooms are clean, wi-fi connnected, comfortable, and very close to the restaurant. Calling a taxi on departure gets one to the hotel i - Would we stay here again if we would return to Avila ? a definite YES. Value for the money and all that you need to re-charge from an intereresting day. A good example of "less is more"... Not that other hotels are worse... Hotel Puerta just wins with a very good balance between what is offered and what it cost to stay there. And the location is as good as it can ever be!
