The room was very clean and nice, with toilet and bathroom (separate), although they looked like being added as you had to climb up a step to got to the bathroom, but it was not a problem.   My husband and I were very impressed with this hotel. Yes, the room was small but it was all you needed. Staff was very helpful. A free stubby of beer each on arrival. Didn't need anything else. Close to everything but quiet at the same time. Restaurant by same name downstairs had cheap drinks and lovely food and friendly staff. I then stayed again but was to soon to review it. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the decor is of a very high standard and all staff are more than helpfull. Location is good, in walking distance (20 min) from the train station and 30 min from the City of Sciences and Arts. We only used transportation to get to the airport. Our room was about 46 euro per night, for a small room with double bed, hot shower, small balcony; no breakfast though. Warm atmosphere, good information available at reception. - The hostel is very basic but practical and ideal for those on a budget. Centrally located, it is an ideal base when exploring the city and the surrounding areas. I opted for my own bathroom which was well worth the additional 4 euros per day. I'm often concerned about security in Hostels but this was diminished in El Cid completely - I felt comfortable leaving my belongings in my room when out and about.

  I ist just an amazing place :) You live in a side street (so it's pretty calm compared to the general noise in Valencia) and you are close to everytning. All what we needed was in walking distance. They rent also bicycles (we got 10% discount). We cycled to the beach and to the Albufera reserve (It was really worth the effort).
