This didn't feel like any other hotel, it was like you were staying
in someone's home - from the decor to the breakfast to the way we
were treated. The double room we got was very comfortable and it looked
like a little cottage in the city. The woman at the desk was very
helpful and personable, she was always willing to help us with anything
we needed. The location is very central - we were in the old town and we
could walk to the Guggenheim and La Ribera Market. The day we stayed in
Bilbao, th. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
We really enjoyed our stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful (and
spoke excellent English). The room was so homey-it was nice to go out in
the rain and go "home" to a warm and comfortable room. The
heaters worked quickly and the room was large and clean. The breakfast
in the morning was good-tea/coffee and an assortment of bread
products (and fruit and yogurt, if desired). We wish we had more time to
explore Bilbao and stay in this comfortable hotel. We found it to be
very quiet-there ar.
I was with a friend and we loved the location in the heart of old Bilbao near hundreds of bars and restaurants, also near the cathedral, the market and the river, with the Guggenheim and the rest of the city in walkable distance. The owner, Igone, made us very welcome and the interiors are decorated with love and imagination. Our room faced an internal courtyard and was very quiet and comfortable. I cannot fault this hotel.
The lady (ower?) helped us a lot with getting the bus time- table , which is not available even at the ALAS bus stationin in Bilbao. And the instruction of the way to go to the places is just exactly to the point.
Room :rather sapcious for the hostel and decorated to her taste. You feel as if you are staying in someone's home. There are many bars nearby. You can leave you luggae befre & after the check-in/out time/.
Igone, the owner is a great host. She offered me to choose between two rooms, but I loved the first one she showed me. The building itself is an old, stone building within the center of the old town, really a beautiful place to stay. The room and the bathroom were spotless clean, with the bed made and towels changed every day.
Bring cash with you as it is the preffered payment method.
We loved the staff, the breakfast room, the proprietor. We particularly liked the location -- Old Town at dusk with the children and the dogs, etc. could not be surpassed.
We were particularly pleased that the service provided us muesli for breakfast -- it was kind, thoughtful AND it made us feel much better all day.
Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Very close to the tram which takes you to the bus station. Right in the Casco Viejo so close to bars and restaurants.
Amazingly quirky decorations. Definiely not run of the mill !!
Walking distance to Guggenheim and close to Arriaga theatre and Superbly tiled RENFE station.
Friendly and welcoming, great location, comfy bed. We stayed here for 1 night, then went to San Sebastian for the weekend - she was kind enough to let us leave our bags for the day on Sunday (2 days after we checked out!), so we could tour Bilbao in comfort before we took our evening flight home.
The hotel was located in the old city, an easy walk from the Guggenheim Museum. There were lots of good restaurants nearby, interesting shops, friendly local people. The staff was so helpful and accommodating with all our questions and needs. We wished we could have stayed a few more days.
Absolutely charming, very helpful, friendly welcome, location was
perfect to explore shops & restaurants. Decoration was pleasingly
different from average hotel, it was full of character & very
personal touches. We intend to return.
The host was extremely helpful, pointing us in the right direction and informing about local interest. The hotel was personalized and a bit quirky. A pleasure to stay in. Thank you Igone.
Location right in the heart of the old town. Great quirky and characterful decor (and original features) makes this place feel like you are a guest in a home. Value for money.
For the price this is a wonderful place to stay, the location is perfect, the proprietor is fabulous and the decor is entertaining and lovely and quirky.
We will be back.
Super cool, well designed hotel, located so you feel like you're
right in the middle of everything. The owner is very nice and helped me
when my husband and I got lost.
I liked very much the atmosphere and the care in choosing the furniture and the details in the room. But overall the location: perfect to enjoy the beautiful Bilbao.
Very good location in the old city, near cafes, restaurants and the river; a pleasant walk to the museums; very helpful proprietor.
Friendly reception, English spoken, great location, room and bed linen spotless, very unique, very secure and we felt very safe.
Very nice room, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is just in the center of the city.
Great location on Santa Maria with a lovely charming atmosphere. Staff were particularly helpful and friendly.
Friendly staff, Good location in the old town, Walking distance to railway station, Free internet.
Excellent location in centre of the old town
Friendly staff
Comfy bed
Near to tram.
Location right in the Casco Viejo, friendly and helpful owner.
Location, friendly staff, large size room, cleanliness.
Central position, good staff, idiosyncratic decor.
Charming, very good location and a great value.
clean
in the middle of old town.
Location, owner, comfy bed.
Everything perfect.
Staff were vey helpful in accommodating our needs which involved a very
brief stop-over. We enjoyed the somewhat quirky decor of the hotel.
When available, staff support was good.
Proximity to downtown is good.
Nice place in the city centre.
This place is a very kitch hostel, not a hotel. Cleaner did not replace towel or soap. Needs a renovation to be a hotel. Best thing was its central location.
I would say the shower could be better as it was hard not to wet the
floor whilst inside, but that's about it. *I didn't like the
fact we checked in for only 1 night...if I knew how great the hotel and
Bilbao was, I would have loved to stay longer.
It's a bit hard to find, even using a gps on walking mode :p Just
make sure you're looking at the street numbers on either side. To
see the signs, you need to look up a floor-they're not in eyesight
but on the first balcony up.
Steep stairs (without lift) might be a challenge for elderly people or for those with heavy luggage.
I can think of nothing we did not like. Maybe a way to turn off one bedside light while the other person was reading would be desirable, but that' s such a small thing.
Reception not always open, difficult if you don´t know which bus you are arriving on! ALSA still does not seem to allow booking online with foreign credit cards. Why?.
Nothing to do with the hotel but had to park in the nearby underground
car park which was very expensive..BUT It was very secure.
I did not like the breakfast. Not in line with the style chosen and the B&B philosophy.
The place is rather cluttered in an eccentric way with old furniture and knick-knacks.
No adverse comments.
Bed was not the most comfortable we've been in. Shower unit very basic and in need of refurbishment.
A bit noisy at times
Steep stairs to carry bags up
Shower a bit small.
The coffee at the (optional extra) breakfast was lukewarm and flavoured, probably with chicory.
Our room was to the street with a few bars, so there understandibly was
some noise - but it was very bearable.
life starts early on streets with cleaning etc.
The breakfast was really weak.
Thin walls and quite small room for the price compared to others not much dearer. We had a 5 star room in Salamanca for 65 euros for example.
The hotel is completely unsuitable for anyone travelling by car. There
is no direct access and the nearest car park involves a difficult 10
minutes walk across main roads - very inconvenient for lugggage - and
costs 17 Euros overnight.
The property is quite dated and musty smelling due in part to the exposed rock and cement in the room.
Small room.
