I got lost when trying to find the place but a wonderful old lady went
out of her way to show the way. I love that ahjumma! I like the
traditional feel of the place. A really cosy home and the warm
hospitality of the owners, Brian and his fiancee s ( I'm sorry bcoz
of the age factor, I forgot her name) made me feel very much welcomed.
The nicest thing is they made the time to have a cosy chitchat and had a
good laugh with the guests. I wished I could join in but I was too
tired. I was supposed . tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
The staff were awesome, not only did they have a copious amount of knowledge about Matsumoto and Nagano in general, but they treated the guest not as a customer but as a close friend or family member. If there were potential problems to be faced outside of the hostel they were very happy to offer their Japanese skills as assistance. On top of this they created a really social atmosphere, for instance during my stay we had a pizza and film night.
I feared on hearing the rooms were tatami style t.
A home away from home, that describes my stay at this wonderful and cosy place best. A place every traveller is looking for but that is so hard to find.
Just new opened one week before my stay the lovely owners did their very best to make my stay to one of the highlights of my journey through Japan. At the evening of my stay there was the opening party of the owners and their friends and I was invited to join. It was a really special moment for me, meeting some wonderful local people - as men.
Thanks for the great stay, Brian & Shuko!
Brian and Shuko are incredible hosst. They make you feel like you are invited to their home. The hostel is very cozy and has a relaxed atmosphere.
I was planning to arrive elate, so Brian let me a note out how to find my room. He made sure I won’t be lost. Both are also a great resource for travel tips around Matsumoto.
It was my first night in Japan, after a long day travelling, and I felt like coming home.
The location is also very good close to t.
I love everything here. Since host is very nice and friendly, Mr. Brian and Chuko-san (sorry if I spell wrong name). Although we have short time to stay here but we can feel your warm welcome. We don't have problem about communication in english and good suggestion for travelling there. Accomodation is new and clean. Toilet and bathroom is clean too. It's not far from Matsumoto station, just walk 5 - 10 mins. You can find restaurant for eating, shopping around Matsumoto station.
Very friendly staff felt at home right away. They have a lot of information available and are willing to explain anything you ask! I really wanted to stay longer but I didnt had the time. I would recommend this to anyone!.
Friendly staff who loves chatting with guests and making sure they are comfortable. When I was arriving in late, they called to check that I wasn't having trouble finding the place.
Very cheerful and helpful host, great location 10 mins from train station. Small guest area made it convenient to socialise with other guests.
Friendly and helpful owners. Good location. Very close to the station and to the castle. Walking distance to a nice onsen.
Very warm and very friendly staff, it felt like home! The house is lovely, very clean and comfortable.
Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Very clean. All in a beautiful town.
Very nice owners. Very familiar atmosphere.
Very nice hosts.
I wish the owner was not too strict with the check in time which is at 4
pm. I arrived at round 11 am from Tokyo and wanted to have a bit of rest
first before going sight seeing in the afternoon. The hostel in Nakano,
Tokyo let me check in early when I arrived at 10 am. Nevertheless, Bryan
was good enough to let me in the room at 3 pm when I couldn't stand
the heat in town.
Not applicable. There wasn't anything I would particularly air a grievance with.
Nothing to complain about.
Nothing.
Nothing to complain about.
Nothing.
The space is narrow.
As an older traveler I found it problematic. I do recommend it for youngsters looking for dorm accommodations.
