The hotel is in a perfect location - right opposite the Kyoto station. The station itself is an excellent place for shopping and eating. In front of the hotel is the bus station, which has the buses that will take you to all the sights in Kyoto. Basically, the location of the hotel cannot be better.

Excellent American-style service (ie. help with luggage, staff always ready to assist), plus an incredibly good location, VERY close to station! (And also just across from a Post Office, coffee shop and handy 7/11-style convenience store). Room was larger than I'm used to when staying in Japan, and kept very clean. Everything was good. Comfortable bed, very nice onsen with indoor and
outdoor bath, sauna. Very clean. Breakfast is well worth the money, open
buffet style with plenty of choices (mainly japanese dishes). They have
noodle soup after 9 pm, free of charge!

Onsen, free ramen and Lawson direct access from the lobby.
Service staff was very good and pleasant. They have special commodities to keep your luggage before after check in/out (brought the luggage at our room after early check in and while we were out).

have spa on top floor which is a bonus for after shopping, although its a bit small but it still good. A lot of people were saying about no wifi in the room but if you ask the staff at reception they will give you a modem for your room to use, free of charge! this was another bonus since i thought they only have wifi in the lobby. -

Extra friendly staff. Clean room. We requested a double if one became available as we were on honeymoon but only a twin was avail at time of booking. They upgraded us for free. Nice room. Great location for sightseeing. Only short walk to subway. Didnt use restaurant so not sure what it was like. -

Very nice and very clean hotel. Rooms are a bit small (like everywhere in japan) but comfortable and clean. Staff is very kind and speak english very well. Very good value for money. Breakfast is also good.
I can recommend this hotel.
The location is not so exciting, I though it was quite near to Gion but it's not. You have to take the subway to reach restaurants or night life areas.

I loved the public bath. But also that it was only optional so that we
had a private bathroom as well. The staff could not do more for us. They
helps us navigate the bus system, we could buy bus passes and rent bikes
from them. And even though they had their own resultant, on the days our
money was low and we bought meals from the 7/11 down the road they
offered their microwave for us to use.

Reception was very polite and quick. The entire house was cleen and propper. The hotel lies on one of Kyoto's main streets, but the room was very calm. -
