This charming but rugged chateau dating from the 12th-century sits in the tranquil village of Roussac in the heart of the Haute Vienne and yet only 30 minutes’ drive Limoges city centre. The stylish and individually styled bedrooms all have an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers and Miller Harris toiletries. They also have a flat-screen TV with English and French channels, and an iPod docking station. A buffet breakfast is served daily in the courtyard cafe, or outdoors on the sun trapped terrace in the warmer months. Guests can also enjoy brasserie-style lunches and snacks alongside the table d’hôtes menu. A traditional afternoon tea is available upon reservation. Guests at Chateau de Roussac will find calm and secluded places in which to relax, the elegant sitting room, the peaceful reading room or the rustic potting shed with its antique chairs, modern artwork and honesty bar offering the perfect spot to take pre-dinner drinks. There is free Wi-Fi in the guests’ areas. Limoges Rail Station is 35 km from the property while Limoges-Bellegarde Airport and Oradour-sur-Glane are 30 km away. Saint Pardoux Lake and Bellac are about 15 km away, and free parking is possible on site.

We had the pleasure of staying at Chateau Roussac in November 2013 for two nights, at the end of a wonderful tour through SW France and the High Pyrenees. We were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary, and during two weeks found many lovely places from a 5 star Chateau to the smallest b & b. All deserved recommendation on their own merits, but Chateau Roussac was 'Exceptional' on every count, and cannot be recommended too highly. All suites are large, beautifully restored & taste.
