our tours through them. The resort is a little out of town (which is
really nice) and you can either catch a bus, cycle or taxi (aud 5-6). It

caves. Hotel rent bikes and you can do a bike trip starting from the
hotel. Hotel could provide a guide to do this. Staff speak english and

This is a really nice small boutique hotel with a great location by the Yulong river, probably the best location in town for viewing the scenery. It is away from the noisy Bar Street but a 5-min cabride can easily take us there. The design very tasteful, carefully renovated from an old Chinese-style building, rooms spacious and comfortable, bath water pressure great.

This hotel is awesome! Theres a lot of hiking and biking in this
town,its quiet and they have many types of food from western to
chinese,if they ask you choose the old building its way better than the
new one,the only thing is that they dont have big beds but trust me its
better,you can ask the to show you the rooms so you can decide,remember
that tis hotel is not in Yangshuo! Its in a small town called
Xingping,and its way better to stay here and enjoy more the authentic
china and one day just

Very nice hotel with stylish Chinese design and good staff. Service was good and they spoke good English in reception. No breakfast in hotel but good deal with nearby Cafe China. Well situated near River Li where the boat from Guilin stops. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars in the neighbourhood. -

An extraordinary place, rich with history, kind hosts and staff who speak some English, comfortable rooms and the best food we had in China. The village, Jiuxian, is a living example of an ancient farm community, all owned by 2 families (who choose a headman to settle any disputes). We had booked 2 nights in a hotel in town (reviewed as quiet one) and 2
nights at Village Retreat and we wish we had spent all our days here! So
much nicer to trade the awful Chinese disco sounds and scooter alarms in
the morning for the ballads of birds and frogs, the perfect place to

We loved the rooms, and the beds were wonderfully soft which is rare in
China. We had one of the chalets and it was great to have a big space to
group and hang out in during our down time. The staff was wonderful and
were happy to help us with whatever we needed. They booked taxis and
shuttles, helped us with reservations, and were all fluent in English.
And it was our sister's birthday one of the days, and they offered
to play happy birthday over the speakers for her as a surprise and let
us l
