The hotel is located within the pedestrian zone of the old town, 80 meters from the main square, very convenient to enjoy strolling about the town: (1) Just 100 meters from the parking at the northern entrance of the pedestrian street (Beimen Street). The entrance is located at the southern end of the main vehicle street (ChangZheng Lu). (2) Automobiles without permission is controlled in the pedestrian zone of the old town. Warm, well-lit room with 2 functioning heaters. Firm bed, comfy quilt. Heat lamp in bathroom, strong shower, plenty of hot water. Fast wi-fi, enough power sockets. Slippers, bathrobes, kettle, humidifier, hair-dryer, toiletries provided. The hotel is less than a year old so plumbing & everything else works (though toilet flush wea. Really nice place to stay, and very friendly staff. Rooms are very cute, with local style, yet very clean with a very modern bathroom. Located in the old city, very good deal. Wonderful hospitality of the owner, who went out of his way to drive us around and introduced us to Tibetan culture. There was heating, wi-fi and a computer in our room. There was a nice bathroom with hot water all the time. There was also a heater in the room that one could turn on or off at will. good location,friendly stuff,nice design room. they have Shangli-ra wine,so you must try!!. Excellent location in the old town not too far from parking lot so you don't have to lug your things too far. The western breakfast was basic. But it will be all right not to eat much and not to suffer from mountain sickness (Oxygen spray is sold in the pedestrian streets). Minor gripes: Double room a bit cramped for 2 (skinny) people with luggage; no chair/desk. Footsteps on stairs and guests in next room clearly audible due to timber floors/walls, but did not keep us awake too long. Breakfast (included in tariff) just adequate. Pre-ordered Tibetan-menu dinner was fine, but had better in restaurants outside. Breakfast was not very exciting. It's a bit difficult to find & can't take a taxi directly there as it is on an alley in the Old Town, but once there is was fine. lodging cost was CNY728 when I booked. but they claimed CNY848. I didn't notice and check as I signed. that was my fault,so don't mind. just want to know why,then sent an email,but they didn't reply. they don't speak English,so difficult to understand each other if you don't speak Chinese. Western breakfast can be improved. dogs-inside.bed-low-difficult-to-sleep-i-am-not-adapted. Expensive and way too noisy. During the night, howling animals kept us up. Then as soon as the staff was up in the morning, you could hear them running around and talking. We had to resort to sleeping with ear plugs. Also the rooms were not super clean. You could see dirt on the floor and maids lacked attention to detail like giving us new roll of toilet paper when we were out.
