The 'staff' consisted of Ian, the boss, a most interesting man and an expert nutritionist who kept us all enthralled over an excellent breakfast. He has a wife (a tennic coach) and baby, and they live in the basement. Lovely house (big, modern and well-designed); we had a great room; there's a help-yourself policy in the kitchen, so cooking is fine if you prefer that to eating out. We liked everything. We've traveled all over from our home base in Utah and it doesn't get any better than the Blackstone. Great quiet location. Beautiful lodge with huge timbers. Great amenities. Bears in the backyard if you get up early enough. The young British couple who owns the lodge are wonderful. The breakfast of eggs Benedict and the oatmeal pie was the best breakfast we've had our entire holiday in Canada. Can't say enough, we can't wait to go back.
Everything was perfect inside and outside! Best experience we've ever had in accomodations. Breakfasts were fantastic... friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable host. Easy access to activities like skiing and snowshoeing. An incredible birthday experience, thank you thank you!.
EVERYTHING. Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast served each morning was the most delicious breakfast ever. The location was perfect and I could see the runs on Fernie mountain. The actual house looked straight out of a magazine!.
We had a very good time nice and relaxing. If you wanted to stay around the place there was plenty to do. You could also fix lunch and dinner their just go down town get what you want 'the run of the kitchen is yours. Will go back when we have time!.
The proprietor is an interesting man. Ask him about minimal exercise and nutrition and he will let you know some very interesting training tips. The bedrooms have an attached balcony that can be used when the weather is co-operating.

The owners were very friendly and we were made to feel at home there. The area was quiet and the views were spectacular. The highlight was the gourmet breakfast that Ian served.

It's like staying at your friend's house whose obsessive attention to detail makes everything perfect, like the faux fur throw on the bed and the super soft linens and towels.

Not a criticism at all, but it's in a residential area a little out of town, and finding it might take you a couple of shots. At least it did us, but we don't like satnavs!.

If you have a mobility problem be warned that the beautiful bedrooms are upstairs. The bathtub/shower is a little hard to get into if you are vertically challenged (if you have short legs).
There is nothing i did not like it was perfect.
