  The hotel is right on the beach. The rooms on that side have wonderfull views. At night i slept with the windows open to listen to the surf. Many of the staff spoke english, and were attentive to my questions. Recife is a beautiful town with lots to do and lots of history.   Right from the start this was a great experience with a gracious, welcoming check-in process. The room was spacious and clean with very comfortable beds, good linens and towels, and a great view of Boa Viagem beach. The food ordered up from room service was excellent, as was the great breakfast buffet (cafe da manha) they served.   We loved the Pousada do Vale, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic (fish night is a real treat) and although the bed was uncomfortable the rooms were nicely decorated and very clean! The staff was friendly, professional, flexible, and made sure we had activities we liked. The food was excellent (fresh juice from fruits in the garden) and everyone was kind. The personal is really friendly and helpful, they organize everything for you (diving/buggy/sightseeing trips and more). Only Gustavo who is there in the afternoon is speaking English, so some phrases are good to know in Portuguese. The rooms are nice
