  Leila and Luiz are fantastic hosts. They make you feel at home in their house and help out willingly and effectively. The location is very unique, located between the city center and South part of town, it's possible to reach any part of Rio quickly. 10 minute walks lead you to busses, a very famous statue or an often filmed and safe favela. I felt lucky to have come across this lovely family residence before they become to popular. I felt a welcome guest of the family rather than a customer. Leo & Leila went out of their way to make my stay as pleasant and accommodating as possible. I very much look forward to coming back hear in the futcher.

  Based in an old Rio neighborhood up the hill from the city center with cobblestone streets and plenty of nice restaurants and bars, Casa Cool Beans has an exceptional staff. The owners, Lance and David, are American. We met only Lance, since David is managing their second property in Rio. The staff are English-speaking Brazilians. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to make your visit to Rio seamles - What is there not to like about this brilliantly conceived guest house? The attention to detail in every aspect was much appreciated. Very much like staying at a family home, yet with freedom and privacy. Our host (Lance) was very welcoming, extremely knowledgeable about Rio and Santa Teresa, which is the immediate neighbourhood of the guest house and which itself has so much to offer in terms of restaurants, art and craft shops and the lively Bar Gomes so close by. The experience is superb, wi
