The hotel is lovely and is surrounded by a park. There is a Metro stop very close by so sightseeing in down town is convenient. The value is superior because the hotel is not right down town but it is very convenient to it. The Metro is cheap and easy to use. The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious. They sorted everything out, they were very friendly, they gave me the room I expected which was very nicely decorated and in my view, the location is perfect to see and visit the sights of Kiev. 10 out of 10 to the staff!   I have stayed in several of the apartments at 19 Baseina street now. Across the street is a shopping centre with a supermarket (like Coles/ Woolworths/ Safeway etc equivalent) in the bottom level. Combined with the kitchen and washing machine in each apartment this is a powerful boon to travelers who wish to pack light or are on a budget.   This was my first time in Kiev and I was looking for a small apartment to avoid the extortionate hotel charges in the city. KIevinn is certainly the answer. It is 5 minutes walk from the main Independence Square. Prior to arrival I arranged a pick up from the airport which was still waiting even though the flight was over an hour late. Both the night time and day time sta - Like most reviews, great location for access to the city, there are also many hotel choices in the immediate vicinity, so I know I have many choices on my next visit, although I will probably stay in this hotel again, I had a 7 day stay in a suite with sauna,i never used the sauna, so will not go for such a room again, as the city is very active with many things to do, plenty of great restaurants in the area to, try the black pig at the top on the street, great food.
